Eric's KHL ReDesign Part III

DYNAMO MOSCOW (by Eric)Last offseason, Dynamo merged with HC MVD, the playoff finalists, to bolster its roster. Dynamo uses a dark navy blue, with white trim and their famous "D" logo. As far as tradition goes, very little is sacred in the Russian leagues, when it comes to logos. However, Dynamo's "D" logo is as close as Russia comes to the Montreal Canadiens' logo. Puzzling, considering it was only brought back this season after an absence of a few years. Anywho, in the concept, the blue is lightened, and white stripes are everywhere. Dynamo is the only team that I know in this league that currently wears a third jersey. The striping there is similar to the striping of the third in the concept. I tweaked it slightly. I also used an original wordmark as the crest on the third. NOBs are for Juraj Kolnik, Martin Strbak, and Dominik Granak.

AK BARS KAZAN (by Eric)Two-time league champs. The White Leopards have had a history of attracting the best talent they can. This includes signing Vinny Lecavalier, Ilya Kovalchuk, Brad Richards, Dany Heatley, and Nikolai Khabibulin during the NHL lockout. (How the hell did they not win the title?) The jerseys Kazan uses now are on the old pre-Edge Sabres template, with red and white trim on the shoulders for good measure. The jerseys I've thought of for Kazan have red and white stripes protruding from the armpits and the full-body panther logo. The silhouette of the alternate panther logo is visible on the lower right half of the jerseys. The alternate is a fauxback of jerseys they wore about a decade or two ago. An original panther logo with a wordmark is used as the crest. NOBs are for Marcel Hossa, Alexei Morozov, and Niko Kapanen.

YUGRA KHANTY-MANSIYSK (by Eric)The newest team in the KHL, debuting this season. It's based in the smallest town in the KHL, but despite the town's small size, it is swimming in oil and gas money. It is one of two teams in the league names after local rivers. It’s kind of like naming a team, “St. Lawrence Montreal”. I digress. They use a blue jersey, with swoosh stripes in white and green at the waist. The jersey also had green and white shoulder trim. I used a more modern striping layout that isn't as cluttered as the current jerseys. I also simplified the logo. The shoulder logo is some kind of local symbol, but its meaning escapes me. It is used on their current logo. The number of the player is seen on the front directly underneath the collar on the home and road. This is used on many European jerseys. The third is green and uses arching blue and white stripes, extending from the waist around to the end of the arm. The crest is - deliberately - in English alphabet. NOBs are for Marek Zagrapan, Filipp Metlyuk, and Pavel Vorobiev.

Quebec Nordiques (by Brandon)
On Tuesday, I posted a Nordiques concept by Brandon. This is a matching 3rd jersey. Just like it's matching home sweater, it uses a light blue and Avalanche red.

New York Islanders concept (by Brian)
Brian calls this black for the sake of black. I like the stripes on the jersey and the use of the lighthouse logo on the shoulders. I don't personally like the black, I think it suited the Mets better when they did it. Also, I think the drop shadow on the numbers would really piss off Rangers fans...hahaha!

Washington Capitals concept (by Jack)
Jack uses a big blue stripes accompanied by two thin white stripes on each side for the Caps concept. It also features the "weagle", a popular choice. Now that the Caps have been disposed of rather easily, they'll have plenty of time to contemplate a possible 3rd jersey.

Philadelphia Flyers concept (by Tom)
Here's a concept for another team that will have a much lengthier off-season than expected. Trust me Flyers fans, they're not coming back this year. I love the striping on the jersey. Especially how the stripes on the yokes match the rest of the jersey. I just don't think it suits the Flyers. What do you think Flyers fans?

That's it for today. Remember, today is the last day of voting for COTW. Tomorrow starts the COTY-April vote!

I am a HUGE Flyers fan and nothing makes me angrier than some one messing up a Flyers concept, but Tom's concept is by far one of the coolest concepts I have ever seen. Seriously it is good!
