I said today that I would announce the new competition. So, introducing the "CHL ReDesign"!Read all of the rules on the CHL ReDeSIGN page. There are a few rules this time around so be sure to read them. Entries sent in without following the rules will just be replied with "Please follow the rules and resend!"

In the Weekly Poll for last week, I was measuring the interest in HJC merchandise. Over 50% of people said it is either a dumb idea (29%) or they wouldn't buy something.However the top answer was 30.1% of voters would purchase a t-shirt for between $15-$20. I'm hoping to take the next step here and possibly in a few weeks HJC shirts will be for sale.

The new Weekly Poll is asking where you think the next Winter Classic (after the NYR @ PHI game) should be held. There are probably a few more choices than what I have provided but, choose from what is available. Voting is on the right side and runs until Sunday @ 11:59pm EST.

COTY-2nd Quarter Vote is still happening (until Thursday @ 11:59pm EST). One entrant has already used social media to get his friends to vote for him. I suggest that others do the same. It helps you out in the votes and it gets more people to HJC!

New Jersey Devils concept (by Mike A.)I like the idea of trying to do something different with the Devils jersey but, I'm not sure how well the green and black would react together when seen from the stands or on TV. Maybe this could use a small amount of white trim to brighten it up a bit?

Nashville Predators concept (by Brandon C.)This is clean but, it is lacking. It's just the basic Reebok template. The font on the back looks a little too plain also. Maybe a little bit of character somewhere on this jersey would help.

Pittsburgh Penguins concepts (by Michael N.)Michael used some elements from Penguins jerseys and some elements from Pitt Hockey jerseys to create these concepts. Maybe someone from the area could better comment on these.

Florida Panthers concept (by Mason H.)This was sent in prior to the release of the Panthers new sweater. I happen to prefer this one though! I would like to see hem stripes but, I'm still satisfied without them.

Hartford Whalers concept (by Brandon C.)The Whalers brand seems to fit so well on the Edge cut. With Winnipeg getting a team, that adds plenty of fuel to Howard Baldwin's argument that Hartford should get a team back. I say, he'll probably need to get in line behind Kansas City and Las Vegas.

Chicago Blackhawks concept (by Jose)Though this doesn't look as good as the current 3rd jersey, the addition of a yoke still makes this a quality concept.

Montreal Canadiens concept (by David)David is bringing back the candy cane striping. Which was a jersey I didn't mind only because it was a few special occasions. David has mixed up a new logo for this jersey (I still can't get over that the Habs would actually place a MAPLE LEAF on the front of their jerseys!). I like everything here except for the solid red patch on the shoulder.

Phoenix Coyotes concept (by Brandon S.)Brandon puts the Coyotes eras in the drink shaker and mixes them up to create this. I like where it is going but, I think it could use some black trim in places.

Phoenix Coyotes concepts (by Keen)I love these concepts, even though they use the circle logo as the main crest. They remind me of the Guelph Storm's killer jerseys. Could use TV numbers and/or shoulder patches though.

Phoenix Coyotes concept (by Alan)The print on the sleeves and hems of the original Coyotes jerseys was cool and unique. The colours they currently use are the same. A combination of the two gets a COTW nomination from me!
