Tuesday and the Jets
Yesterday the new HJC contest was announced. The Heritage Classic Competition is now underway! Click the banner on the right or go to the HERITAGE CLASSIC COMP page for all of the rules and details. I will post the entries as they come in.
Yesterday might have been a busy day for some of you and you may have missed the post. So, you can check it out here. You can always review older posts by using the menu on the right side of the page (under the Twitter bar).
The COTW voting is ongoing. Committee Members can email their COTW vote in until Thursday @ 11:59pm EST.
QUICK HITS
Calgary Flames concept (by Jeremy)
Winnipeg Jets concepts (by Stephen T.)
Winnipeg Jets concept (by Kyle C.)I like almost everything that is going on here except for the logos. The like the striping and the wordmark on the sleeves. I like socks and the light blue that has been used for the jersey. I think the secondary logo on the back hem is a little big for that location. The big jet on the front, while being a different idea, just reminds me of the initial crop of 3rd jerseys we got back in January of 1996.
Winnipeg Jets concept (by Jeremy)Even though the striping across the front is identical to the new Sens jersey it still looks good. That pattern would look good for almost any team. It wouldn't hurt the concept to use the shoulder patches here and the lack of TV numbers bothers me, but you already knew that didn't you?
Columbus Blue Jackets concepts (by Trevor)Here are a set of Winter Classic jersey ideas for the Blue Jackets, obviously based on the old Cleveland Barons. This is a nice and clean job by Trevor of transferring the Jackets' look onto the Barons jerseys. Good job with the accuracy!
New York Islanders concepts (by WhiteLightning)White brings back the jerseys of the 80's and tries his hand at a black alternate for the Isles. The jersey itself is fine, but the uniform as a whole may be a little too dark for me. A blue helmet and blue pants may improve that as would more blue on the socks.
Florida Panthers concept (by Spirit104)This would be awesome if the Panthers had decided to go in a different direction during the summer. Three out of four times I find that hem stripes are better than no hem stripes. This also doesn't stray too far away from the Panthers look.
Winnipeg Jets concepts (by Steven G.)I'm really loving the military look coming from this jersey. The numbers, font, and stripes on the arms all do a great job of that. I look at these concepts and I have no complaints, great job! COTW nomination from me!

trevor for cotw! thats the first great klooking jersey for the blue jackets i have seen except some of avi's.
Kyle's "big jet" concept for COTW! It reminds me of the 1972 Summit Series jerseys Canada wore, especially with the big maple leaf behind the jet. I love it!
Great job, Steven!

Steven G. for COTW
Isn't it interesting that the majority of the WPG Jets concept jerseys look much better than the one reebok created for the jets.Reebok cannot design an awesome looking hockey jersey yet, most of the people on this web site put reebok to shame...Unbelievable!!!! Reebok...get a life!! Let someone else who knows what they're doing design hockey jerseys!
