Thursday: Playoffs?

Hello everyone and welcome to HJC! It's Tyler here again on Thursday and we have some great concepts to get too today, but first some news. On Wednesday, the NHL approved a game between the Penguins and Blackhawks to be played at Soldier Field on March 1, 2014, so I can't wait for that, should be a great game too. Also, the Hawks won Game 1 vs the Wild, can't wait for Game 2 on Friday! Games being played tonight are OTT @ MTL, NYR @ WSH, LA @ STL, and DET @ ANA. Anyway, let's get going!

New York Rangers concept (By: Darren H.)

This was Darren's entry into the Rangers portion of the Untouchables competition. Also, it finished second in the voting. I like the "New York" script, but I think the home jersey should have "Rangers". The yoko striping looks cool as well. In fact, the arm and hem striping look simple, yet unique. Awesome job. 8.5/10 and a COTW nom from me

Anaheim Ducks concept (By: Stephen T.)

Can someone say "Wild Wing"? Well, me being a young guy, I'm not a big fan of the "Wild Wing" jerseys, and I still can't say I am here. I get the idea, recreate it with the current color scheme, and it was executed well. But, it just doesn't work for me. Sorry. 6/10

Georgia Bulldogs NCAA concept (By: Jets96)

We had a load of college concepts last Thursday, but today we have just one. It's the University of Georgia Bulldogs. I really like the "black-grey-white" striping scheme and the logo looks good as well. Not too sure about the grey pants, but I don't mind them. The logo in the collar insert is cool as well. Nice job here, Jets96. 8/10

Oshawa Generals OHL concept (By: AJH)

I'll let the description on the concept speak for itself. I don't mind the curved stripes, and the helmet looks odd, I say make it all-blue. Pretty lateral move here, considering the curved stripes would be hard to really notice on the ice. Execution is great as always from Alan. 7.5/10

New York Rangers concept (By: Jets96)

This was Jets96's entry into the Rangers portion of the Untouchables competition (unfortunately ended with only 1 5th place vote in the voting). I have to say, this is definitely a very simple concept. Simple yokes, striping, and pants. Not a big fan of the logo either. If you have to use a shield logo, I recommend this one. Nothing special, sorry Jets96. 5/10

Sarnia Sting OHL concept (By: E.Awad)

It feels like a while since we've seen concepts from E.Awad, and I've missed them. Today, he has a concept for the Sarnia Sting of the OHL. Seems to me like a simplification of the Ducks jerseys, and I love it. Awesomely simple. Maybe these could use some more character. A common thing I've seen for the Sting are sublimated honeycomb patterns in the striping, that's an idea. I like the Kings font as well. Awesome concept here. 8.5/10

Ducks/Kings 2014 Outdoor Game concept (By: Bobby P.)

We've all heard about the six outdoor games to be played next year in the NHL, and the Kings/Ducks are to be one of them being played a Dodger Stadium. The Kings jersey is good, almost like a flipped version of their current Purple throwbacks, not bad. Not sure about the Ducks jersey though. I actually don't mind the "kelly green" being used, but that logo is awful. Infact I like the colors and the striping, just not the logo. Good job here. 7.5/10

Columbus Blue Jackets concept (By: Mike S.)

How about a grey jersey? There is one reason I don't like it. A Blue Jacket is a nickname for the Union soldiers in the American Civil War back in the 1860's (for those who may not have known), and the soldiers they fought wore grey uniforms, which kind of defeats the purpose of them being called the "Blue Jackets". Just thought I should say that. Anyway, back to the actual jersey. I like the Ohio-flag type striping and the yokes are cool as well. No complaints other than the thing about the Civil War. 7/10
