Monday: DEL Frenzy
Hey Guys, welcome to the Monday post
Congrats to the HJC Open Final Four, Andrew sure did destroy my Hershey Bears concept with his Milwaukee Admirals concept, and good luck to the remaining entrants.
Here are your voting reminders:
604 wants to see the Jackets move towards the double blue completely, and gives us decent jerseys, but could use some reform. The blue jersey looks great, and I like the striping. The white jersey doesn't need cuffs or a yoke, and a shoulder patch would make the jersey look better. I'd also say add TV numbers and include the back of the jersey. (6.5/10)
Tampa Bay Lightning Concepts (By: Brady S.)
Brady keeps up the Swift concepts, and keeps Tampa looking Original 6, and adds some modern elements. The tail script is an awesome idea, and Tampa could pull it off. The number styling is nice, and the lightning bolt pant striping is awesome. The back numbers should be larger, and I would add a 3rd colour, like gray or black or even darker blue. (7/10)
Anaheim Ducks Concept (By: Coby S.)
Coby Continues to improve his concepts and this is his biggest leap so far! The Ducks have announced next season they will wear a throwback of their original jerseys for at least one game, and Coby is on the right track here. the elimination of silver was a surprisingly good move, and the modern logo and numbers compliment the classic mask logo perfectly. There are some execution errors like the pixilation and the should patches being too big, but still, this has definite potential. (6/10)
Colorado Avalanche Concepts (By: Darren H.)
The Avs sure do need a new look, and double blue is a good idea, what with the team having to do with snow. The striping reminds me of mountains and the curved arms reminded me of the ski slopes in Colorado. I like the white jersey more, because the dark blue could be a good idea as a main colour on a jersey as opposed to baby blue, make it look more threatening and stronger. (8.5/10)
Augsburg Panthers Concepts (By: Jake88)
I love this colour pattern, and the logo goes rather well with the hem striping. The arm striping is unique and very Euro. The hem stripe matches the logo and the numbers overall match the jersey. I can't really think of anything wrong with the jersey, but maybe thicker arm striping, other than that, simply great. (9/10)
Hamburg Freezers Concepts (By: Jake88)
Diagonal chest stripes are not common in hockey, or any sport, but should be used more, and a European hockey team is a good place to start in hockey. The logo goes well on the jersey and the colours are balanced well. I like the blue arms on the white jersey, but I think the jersey needs a lot more gray to make it look less bland. I'd also add a shoulder patch to make the yoke look less bland. (8.5/10)
Seattle Evergreens Concepts (By: Jeff C.)
Seattle is going to get a hockey team, at some point in the next few years due to the lack of teams in the West, and forest is a good theme for the possible team. The logo looks a little too close to the Vancouver Stick in Rink logo, and only really works on the green jersey. The green jersey looks great, but the other two drag the concept down. The white jersey is a little too colourful and the blue jersey looks too close to the Canucks jersey. I think making the concept around the green jersey would be better. (6/10)
Washington Capitals Concepts (By: Kyle N.)
The Capitals need new jerseys, and maybe not vintage, but Kyle gives a decent idea. The arm striping is the unique part to the jersey and keeping the stars on the stripes because they won't be blocked by the cuffs. The new yoke is awesome and I like how the name plate is inside the yoke, like the Carolina Hurricanes. (7/10)
Michigan State Concept (By: Ryan T.)
The NCAA has some weird jerseys, and Ryan T. gives a decent idea for the Spartans, that isn't too far out. Script works well on NCAA jerseys. and I like the number font that matches the script. The jersey however is bland, and needs some black on it, like on the pants, and a shoulder patch and TV numbers. (6/10)

Here are your voting reminders:
COTW July 15-21 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)
HJC Open Semi Final entries (due Wednesday @ 6pm Eastern)
The Off-Season continues to drag on, slowly, but the NHL Schedule was released and while the schedule itself wasn't controversial, the names of the Division were, particularly the Metropolitan Division, the most eastward of the four conferences. The Divisions should be named after famous players imo, like Orr for the Metropolitan, Howe for the Atlantic, Gretzky for the Central Division and Dionne for the Pacific Division.

Jets, I have to respectfully disagree with your assessment of that MSU jersey. The traditional design is a refreshing design from their real-life design which could really use some simplifying.
Cody, your 5 tv numbers are upside down. Other than that, great concept.
+Timmy Quigley Thank you so much man! It is amazing to hear that someone really likes my concept! I wish more people would give me criticism but thanks anyway!
Also the shoulder logos are upside down.
