That was the last COTW vote for February which means we can begin the COTY-February vote. The entrants are listed on the side of the page in the red banner. You can click on that banner to see the concepts or you can go to the COTY 2014 page. Get your vote in before Friday ends.

The COTW nominees for the March 3 to 9 vote have been listed in the black banner on the side of the page. Concepts can be seen by clicking the banner or by going to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab. Voting ends on Friday.

The HJC Logo Use Policy has been updated.
If you use any image, logo, or photo that isn't yours you must give credit ON the image(s) you send in. To credit properly you should find the name of the artist. If that can't be found, you must write the link, to the image that you used, on your concept. If neither of those can be done then don't use the concept. It can always be found on the ABOUT/CONTACT HJC tab. Basically you need to start citing everything unless you drew it from scratch or you're using a commonly known logo. I'm starting to focus on un-cited background images for this.

It seems this needs to be cleared up.
HJCcontest@gmail.com
This is the email address that has been used for the last year and a half for competitions. This is the email address that the writers have access to. This email is only used for competitions and nothing else.
concepts@HockeyJerseyConcepts.com
This is the email address used for sending in concepts for the regular blog posts. Only I (Ryan) have access to this email account. If it's not for a competition, then send it to this address.
I appears as if a good handful of people are not reading the competition rules lately. A lot of rule breakers and a lot of people not sending competition items to the proper address. This shouldn't be complicated as I lay it out in black and white for everyone to read.

To keep the flow going here on HJC, I've come up with a fun little vote to determine the most popular Winter Classic jersey. Click the banner at the top of the page or go to the WINTER CLASSIC tab to see how this all shakes out. Vote before the end of Friday!

Seems as if a lot of HJC readers were at the Stadium Series game in Chicago. Kaner88 flew in from Pittsburgh to see the game and wanted to share some of his photos. Notice how he met Steve Larmer!

HJC SUMMER MEET-UP: TORONTO
A plan has been hatched to create a summer meet-up for HJC readers here in Toronto. Several people have expressed interest, so this thing is going to happen. We just need to determine how big it's going to be.
Tentative plan is to rent a meeting room and hold a live Weekend Update in front of those that attend. I'd like to find a way to live stream that, if possible. We'll also get to meet each other and people can bring along some of their jerseys and concepts to discuss. We'll take some photos too. I'll bring my game-worn jerseys so people who haven't had the chance can touch and feel. Then we can head over to the Hockey Hall of Fame for a group trip. We can close out the day with a meal.
Tentative date is Saturday, July 12, 2014. So, if you have yet to make any summer vacation plans, consider Toronto for a weekend in July and come meet some fellow HJC readers and writers.
I'm still determining interest in this idea, so email me if you'd like to join us.

Has your opinion of Marty St. Louis changed in the past couple of weeks? Mine has! Probably not if you're a Rangers fan though. Most definitely if your a Bolts fan. Marty seems like the type of guy who would try and get HJC shut down if he didn't win a COTW. Don't be like Marty, and vote! It just takes a quick email to HJC.

My opinion of Marty hasn't changed a bit. He spent his early career going undrafted, being constantly looked over, and always undervalued. He broke into the league finally with Tampa Bay, and most of the appreciation went to Lecavalier and Richards when they won the cup. He was 2nd in points last year, helped Stamkos develop into a superstar, and kept Tampa Bay treading without Stamkos or any other star player to help out, besides maybe Ben Bishop. Considering his stats, and his playing style, there was absolutely no way Marty shouldn't have been named to Team Canada originally, and I wouldn't be shocked if that was the main reason why he wanted out, instead of "family" as was reported. But I think he's earned the right and respect to play where he wants in the league, just like Iginla last year. It killed me to see him leave Calgary, but if thats what he wanted, thats what he deserved.
