The winner of the 2014 1st Quarter Vote was Dylan A!
For the second year in a row Dylan will be in the Concept of the Year Semi-Finals.
The winner of the COTW vote for April 7-13 was Dylan W!
All of the entries are in for the Oilers Steel Drop Competition. Fantastic participation for this competition as we received 37 entries! Click the banner at the top of the page or go to the OILERS COMP tab to see the entries and to check out the voting rules. It's a Top 5 vote and it wraps up at the end of Friday.
Where did everyone go?
We are looking for everyone who said they were interested in showing up to the HJC Meet-Up, July 12 in Toronto. About a dozen people originally showed interest, but as I am writing this I have four (plus myself) confirmed.
Aren't sure you want to come to the Meet-Up? Even if I tell you that I just secured one of the main prizes for one of the raffles we will be having? I can't spill the beans yet, but I will say that, "the lady looks good in white".
I'll announce more prizes as I obtain them. For those that can't afford a plane ticket to Toronto, don't worry as there will be a chance to purchase tickets to the online raffles that will be held.
For all of the details (so far) click the Meet-Up banner at the top of the page or go to the HJC MEET-UP tab.
The new COTW nominees have been listed on the side of the page. Click that banner to see the concepts or go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab. There were 7 concepts properly nominated for COTW this week. As per the rules I had to narrow it down to 5. Get your votes in before Friday ends in the Eastern time zone
Perhaps you remember a couple of years ago when HJC held a contest to design the new white jersey for Fredericton High School in Fredericton, New Brunswick? Matt Marczel won that competition. Anyways, Jeff C. was the person who contacted me and asked to run that competition. He has now gotten in touch with me again and wanted to share something.
That was the very cool keepsake that was handed out to each player on the team this season. Each acrylic piece was customized with the player's name and number. Very cool and thanks for sharing this Jeff.
How is your team doing so far in the playoffs? Perhaps you are like me and your team crapped the bed in the regular season, so now you just enjoy the playoffs for the good hockey and hope you do well in the HJC Playoff Pool. Here's a great idea; the HJC Playoff Pool needs a better logo. Create one and send it in. While you're sending it in also send in your COTW vote. Seeing as you still have your email open, send in your Oilers Top 5 votes to the competition email.

Thanks everyone who voted for my USA concept. I look forward to seeing Cox again in the finals because you know he's going to wait until like December to get into the finals and then beat me with some unbelievably good concept, and he'll probably have a jersey made for his good buddy JS Giguere
DBro - let's not worry about Mr. Cox - do your best, stay positive and believe in yourself. And if at any point you feel like Mr. Cox might do better - raise your level, too.
