Thursday: Title Loading...

Hello again and welcome back to this week's one and only Thursday post!

Considering how long my intros have been the past few weeks with my redesign list and logo news I'm going to just cut right to the chase this time. I know there have been a few other leaks/unveils but just go read yesterday's post, my thoughts are more or less an echo of Dylan's.

This week we have three votes, the usual COTW, the not as usual COTY monthly vote, and the first ever (as far as I'm aware) WWE Competition vote! It's simple to vote, just go answer the polls on the sidebar, then go name your top 4 entries to the WWE comp. So thee should go vote for the three votes. Now. Go do it now.

And on to the concepts already!

Idea: Even if the concept is bad is there still a good, creative idea at the core? 1 point

Creativity: Points will mainly be taken here if the concept is a copy of another jersey, or close to it 1 point

Execution: 2 points

Realism: Would this jersey be believable to be seen on the ice? 1 point

Pizazz: Wow factor, just something that makes the concept really stand out. It's hard to do but I don't think you can have a perfect concept without it: 1 point

Other areas: Anything else on the concept, just the overall look, regardless of the other categories: 4/5 points

If I feel that one of the categories doesn't need reviewed as much as the other ones I will exclude it from being reviewed and move the points to another one. Other areas and Execution will always be reviewed, and logically the final score will just be the individual scores added up.

Ben S. - U of A in H

First off I have no idea if anyone says that name as "U of A in H", but oh well.

Idea: They currently appear to wear blue Blackhawks copies and white Rangers copies. They could use something original (1/1)

Creativity: Not really copied off of another set...well maybe...it gets the point and I'll get to that later. (1/1)

Execution: Only issue is that the inside hem on the blue jersey needs to be blue. I'm assuming the gray color there now is meant to be a shadow, so just apply the shadow to the blue as well (1.75/2)

Realism: I could see it (1/1)

Pizazz: Nope (0/1)

Other areas: 
+Pretty good design overall
+Simple design that fits well for a college team

-If people say that the Lightning have Leafs/Wings hybrids, imagine how many people would say that about these...
-The jerseys each use 2 different striping styles, if you change the hem to one solid stripe or the sleeves to 2 thinner stripes then that would be fixed. If option 2 is chosen the pants and socks would need to be changed as well.

Chris W. - Chicago Steel

Idea: They have decent jerseys already but this makes them much more unique (1/1)

Creativity: Definitely (1/1)

Execution: Solid (2/2)

Realism: For a USHL team, yes (1/1)

Pizazz: Also definitely (1/1)

Other areas: 
+The steel design striping is unique and looks great
+Even if you take out the steel design the striping is still pretty unique
+Thee Logo update looks great as well, and so does the "S" and "C" shoulder patches. They tie into the Blackhawks while keeping the team's identity.
-I would add more red to the home white jersey

Dylan T. - Colorado Eagles

Idea: This idea should definitely happen (1/1)

Creativity: This idea has been seen a lot...still creative though (0.5/1)

Execution: Unless it's just me the name and/or number looks off center. Otherwise solid (2/2)

Realism: Especially for ECHL yes (1/1)

Pizazz: Like I've said, it's been done too many times to really stand out (0/1)

Other areas: 

+Even though it's kinda overused it's still a solid design

+The blue yoke really helps

-The numbers/name would look better with outlines on them

-The yoke design doesn't seem to match all that well with the striping

Max R. - Union College Dutchmen

Idea: Good idea for a jersey for them (1/1)

Creativity: Doesn't look like their current set or an old one (1/1)

Execution: -The back hem trim on the front of the jersey should be white to match the back

-The inside collar around the tag should be black to match the back

-Back number, TV numbers, and Captain patch all look too small

Pizazz: Nope (0/1)

Other areas: 

+Striping pattern is simple yet good looking

+Good design for a college team

-Lose the phantom yoke

-I would make the numbers red with a white stroke to match the logo

-The Flying Dutchman would have been cool as a logo (just kidding...kind of)

Taylor R. - Golden State Warriors

Idea: N/A (0/1)

Creativity: As I've said a few times crossovers are definitely creative (1/1)

Execution: Solid (2/2)

Realism: This is definitely not realistic, as I don't see them ever becoming a hockey team. But if they did, this is a good option for them (1/1)

Pizazz: Yes (1/1)

Other areas: 

+Good transition from the court to the ice, keeping aspects of their uniforms but hockey-ifying it

+The double striping looks solid

+One thing I've liked about this series is how non-traditional the pants have been but still have also looked good

-I know it's only like this because of the way the basketball unis are, but I think the back number would look good with an outline, at least on the blue jersey
