Monday: Back For More Jets96

Welcome to the Monday post, unsurprisingly written by Jets96!

I already covered the jersey news yesterday, and since nothing new has emerged, let's jump right into the Reimagined 1996 World Cup of Hockey entry (ies)!

Brooks F.

Don't forget to check out the page to get all the rules, the voting phase lasts longer than usual contests would. There's also 3 divisions so you can get plenty of entries in!

If you didn't take my advice yesterday to vote,  now would be an excellent time to vote! You're already reading this, may as well move that cursor 5 inches at the most over to the right and click the vote button on your choice of concept

COTW Oct. 18-24 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)
REWRITE HISTORY- Entry Phase (ends Wednesday Nov. 4th @ 9:59pm EST

On to the concept!

-----------------------------------------------------

Pensacola Ice Flyers Concepts (By: Taylor R.)

+ I really like how the logo looks on the chest stripe, you'd think it wouldn't work but it does
+ I love the custom font
+ It's Taylor, the execution speaks for itself
+ You can tell the striping is very similar to the Blackhawks but it looks good

- I'm not a huge fan of the little yoke stripe, it isn't bad but it isn't adding anything to the jersey
- I would like if the home and road striping matched, bur I get why Taylor used more blue on the white jersey

Rating: 9/10

Pensacola Ice Flyers Concept (By: Taylor R.)

+ Does what an alternate should do, and I really like how it isn't a forced grey jersey (cough cough...NBA)
+ The blue and gray look awesome together
+ Everything good about the regular set is transferred well on to this jersey
+ Again execution
+ The yoke stripe works with the yoke

- Nothing

Rating: 10/10 COTW Nom from me

New York Islanders Concept (By: Dylan T.)

+ The new roundel logo Dylan has made, while a slight modification to the original, looks great
+ Good colour balancing, the colours are not bleeding into the black, but at the same time don't hurt my eyes looking at them
+ Good execution
+ Better than the actual jerseys, which I think is due to the addition of blue and orange

- Shoulder patches?  Helmet logo?
- Numbers are too thin/small on the jersey template and the TV numbers are too small on the full body template
- Again, mind the lose pixels on the full body template
- There's lots of empty space on the concepts, I don't care much about the background, you should show off your work more than navy background/triangles

Rating: 7.75/10

Calgary Cowboys Concepts (By: Brooks F.)

+ Some people are against the red/white colour scheme for the cowboys, but I quite like it
+ Good job updating (barely but enough) the logo to make it still look like it's from 1975 but not from a cheap banner
+ I like the striping pattern, reminds me of an upside-down Minnesota alternate
+ Good execution

- The red is still slightly too bright, it wouldn't be the worst shade of bright 70s red, but still too bright
- Pants should patch the arm striping

Rating: 8.75/10

Quebec Nordiques Concepts (By: Jan S.)

+ While I'd prefer the Nordiques come back with the original logo, something using the Fleur de lis would be good too
+ Double blue is a solid colour scheme for a team in eastern Québec
+ Execution is getting better, Jan!

- Stripes on the socks are too high
- Remember to stop the stitching at the hem and to add the numbers on the from of the helmet
- The script on the whit jersey is too thin/faded to really work as a primary and from a distance would look really blurry

Rating: 6/10

-----------------------------------------------------
That's the post!
Don't forget to vote and get your contest entries in!
Have a great week
Go Jets, Moose & Mooseheads!

I'll 3rd Taylor's grey jersey. That's a thing of beauty.
