Tuesday: Yichel! It's The Second Round
So today I'm coming down from my Eichel high that I had yesterday. Never have I ever been so excited for a team's season when their playoff expectations are not high at all. After just three games I can finally see a Sabres team that will be fun to watch regardless if games end with a 'W' or a well known loss. That's just for my team though, how are your teams doing after that opening weekend? I know it's so early in the season to tell what's going to happen but what's your prediction for your favorite team? Still need to gel with new acquisitions? Or are you steamrolling your opponents?
In other news, make sure you send in your GREY JERSEY COMPETITION entries to the competition e-mail! And make sure to vote for COTW and COTY nominees on the side of the page! Also, while letting us know your opinion on today's concepts, time again to vote in the logo competition! Had 11 voters last week, let's bounce that number up!

OHL LOGO TOURNAMENT ROUND 2:
Kingston Frontenacs vs. Barrie Colts
(Kingston 7-4 over Niagara - - Barrie 7-4 over Sudbury)
Mississauga Steelheads vs. Oshawa General
(Mississauga 6-5 over Erie - - Oshawa 6-5 over Flint)
North Bay Battalion vs. Hamilton Bulldogs
(North Bay 7-4 over Kitchener - - Hamilton 6-5 over Saginaw)
Ottawa 67's vs. SOO Greyhounds
(Ottawa 9-2 over Guelph - - SOO 8-3 over Sarnia)
London Knights vs. Peterborough Petes
(London 9-2 over Windsor - - Peterborough 7-4 over Owen Sound)
There are your matchups for this second round! Obviously in parentheses underneath the matchups are the votes from last round. Saying this again for this week, if you vote you must vote for all matchups for your vote to count. Next week since there will be an odd number of teams the top voted team will go against the least voted team and the other three will be in a three-way matchup.
Grey Jersey Competition (entries due Friday @ 10:59pm Eastern)
COTY-September vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)
COTW Oct 4-10 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)

New York Riveters 3rd Jersey Concept - Brooks F.
Brooks starts today's normal entries with a NWHL concept. Honestly, this would be the league's best jersey in my eyes. I think to make this jersey much better, would be to eliminate the bottoms sleeve striping. Just stop the side panels at the underarm. I think that would make the jersey have much more "breathing room" and it would still be the basic design you want. The design, with the colors and stripes look really great in my eyes. I think the logo could always use work but I won't judge that too harshly.

Dallas Mavericks Concept - Jan S.
I'm never really a fan of putting a city skyline as a striping pattern on jerseys. I think it's too gimmicky and doesn't really ever go with the team's identity (as funny as that sounds). So I would not agree with it year. The striping you have on the arms goes so much better and looks great and then you see the hem and it just breaks up all unity that the jersey had. The dark jersey I think would be a great jersey with a straight hem stripe going across it, same with the away jersey. On the away though I would make the yoke dark blue instead of having it white, and like I said earlier, eliminating the skyline and replacing it with normal striping. With those chances, to me, would make this jersey set pretty slick!

Florida Panthers Concept - Ryan C.
Florida to me needs a change in jerseys. This change I believe would be an upgrade. However it could still use some work. The gold/yellow color Florida uses on their jerseys is the one i would suggest with this. The gold you have here is dull and bland and doesn't help the red and blue stand out. I don't know if this move was intentional but I'd switch it to the brighter gold. That being said, the away jersey would be a little too bright with the yellow, so I would switch the gold with blue or red for the away jersey. Especially the number since that would be hard to see. Those color changes alone could make this a great jersey. I would add in some shoulder patches too, it seems a bit empty as it is right now, so adding in the palm trees would really help. Wouldn't do much to the design but it would make it look better.
Rating: 8.2/10
My COTW NOMINATION this week goes to Brooks F. and the New York Riveters concept. Though I think it still needs some changes, the way it looks now is still enough to give it the nomination. Do you agree with that? Disagree with that? Let me know in the comments of the post
(and also the votes for round two!)

Let me clear my Yichel! Lol I don't know what I'm saying
Kingston over Barrie, Oshawa over Mississauga, North Bay over Hamilton, Ottawa over Soo, London over Peterborough.
I'll second Ryan C for COTW (Panthers). The thick gold stripes actually don't look bad; I don't find the shade bland at all. Gold numbers on the back on the white jersey might be a little too much gold though.
The Rivettes jersey is beautiful, but it´s funny to have "third" jersey in a league where teams only have one :-)

Glad someone is tackling the NWHL; and thank you Dylan form confirming that I did actually hear a "mystery Y" before Eichel's name from RJ after the goal.
