Week of May 2-8, 2011
Over the weekend there was a COTW playoff vote between Brandon and Brian. The voters have spoken and the results are below...
We have a tie, AGAIN! At this point, it's pretty obvious that the concepts are equal. I know nobody likes ties but, I'm naming both concepts Concept of the Week!
Since last week's voting ran the whole week, we instantly move into the next COTW vote. You can see the nominees under the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab. Voting is on the left side of the page and runs until Thursday @ 11:59pm EST.
The Weekly Poll last week asked what you thought was the best hockey movie ever. Knocking off the long time champion (Slap Shot) is the 2004 film, Miracle!
I thought Slap Shot would pull it off here but, obviously Miracle had enough to pull through. It would be interesting to see how your nationality played into the voting. Finishing 3rd was any of the Mighty Ducks movies. There were several other movies listed and it was also pointed out in the comments that I missed Youngblood. Sorry, I didn't see it/know of it. I strongly recommend seeing the other movies on the list (Net Worth, Canada-Russia 72, Mystery Alaska, The Rocket) all were strong movies. DO NOT attempt to watch Love Guru though, it was awful...and I'm in it! Only as a crowd member. They filmed a penalty shot scene after a pre-season Leafs game, so I went down to be in it.

Anaheim Ducks concept (by Brandon)
Brandon used the proposed but, unused Ducks colours from the re-brand 5 years ago. Then he brought back the Mighty Ducks logo. I kind of like that different style block numbering on the back.

Looking back to last week's poll, Mason used the colours from the Mighty Ducks movie to create this NHL Ducks concept. I think NHL fans of the mid 90's would go crazy for this jersey. Now? Not so much.
Pittsburgh Penguins concept (by Ryan)
A couple of weeks ago I saw someone's laundry drying outside and saw a regular polo shirt that looked like this. I thought it would look pretty cool as a Penguins jersey. What do you think?
Chicago Blackhawks concept (by Tex)
Tex made a few changes to the Hawks home jersey. Changes include getting rid of the "diaper hem" and having an equal amount of stripes on the arm as the hem. Was this change better?
St. Louis Blues concept (by Jack)
I love this jersey! Jack gives the Blues a great retro look here. The only thing I would change is to not have the white on the hem go completely to the bottom, I'd just have a stripe.

I hope DH Gate finds your Pens jersey, it is incredible, and it has vegas gold! COTW!

I like the Mighty Ducks inspired Ducks jersey! Im not a Ducks fan but I would definitely wear that 1!
