Spots for people who wants to help out with writing posts for HJC are filling up very quickly. There are FOUR spots to be filled and as of this posting SIX people have applied. If you're interested in being a guest writer, click the banner at the top of the page and get your application in soon.
The COTW nominees have been listed. You can see the nominated concepts by clicking the banner on the side of the page or you can go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab. Committee Members have until the end of Thursday to get their vote in.
As you can see at the top of the page is the banner for the new competition here on HJC. We are having a Florida Panthers 3rd jersey Comp! Lets create some Panthers 3rd jerseys before they come up with their own! Click that banner or go to the FLA COMP page for all of the rules.
On Thursday Kevin W. put in a request to have a Under Armor template put up. Here are the templates that came in.

(by Matt M.)
I personally prefer Mason's template because it's compatible with the collars from the "NHL Premiere Jersey Templates". That is the one that will be posted on the TEMPLATES page. If you want the others, get them now while they are here.
It's one of those days where I don't have a lot of time (those are becoming more frequent), so comments will be quite brief. Please fill in the emptiness of this blog with your comments at the bottom.
Philadelphia Flyers concept (by John B.)
I'm not digging the Flyers script. Hem stripes look to be too low. I like the colours and stripes though. 6/10
New York Rangers logo (by Tristan)
Seems like something a street vendor would do and then try and sell the shirts to tourists, 3 for $20! On second viewing proper citing should have been done for the Statue of Liberty. 5/10
Minnesota Wild concept (by Kirk T.)
Colours + the primary logo make this seem more like a Silvertips concept than a Wild concept. It's like taking broccoli, adding sugar and saying it's candy. Nope, it's still broccoli. 6/10
Los Angeles Kings concept (by Jeremy T.)
Jeremy says this is a combination of eras. I like the idea of the main colours, but I think it needs a small trace of black trim. Right now it seems muted, like a rainy day. 7/10
Alaska Aces concepts (by WinnipegJets96) *Description on concept. 7/10
Peoria Rivermen concept (by HJC)
I was trying to give the team a jersey that would be modern and stand out from the rest of the league. This is for their contest they just held as are the next two concepts.
Peoria Rivermen concept (by Jesper)
I like the multitude of stripes and I'm now very much a fan of stripes on the shoulders. I think those stripes would be more effective without the lighter blue yokes. 8/10
Peoria Rivermen concept (by Scott M.)
To me this just seems like a nicely executed, average looking jersey. No complaints, but nothing to rave about either. 7/10
Swift Current Broncos concepts (by WhiteLightning)
Fauxback third is the stars here. I think the other two would work better if it had hem stripes and they went along with the curve of the hem. Same pattern though as the side detail here. 7/10
Bishop Brady Giants concepts (by Brady)
Brady starts a re-design series here of New Hampshire high school hockey teams. I like the jerseys and the colours, but not the baseball team wordmark. Something original would be appreciated more. 7/10
Florida Everblades concepts (by WinnipegJets96) *Description on concept. 7/10
The White Stripes concept (by Caz) *Description on concept. 8/10
Buffalo Sabres concepts (by Dylan)
I think the home and road are quite nice. It's the simplicity in the connection to the original sweaters that I like. I've never been a fan though of the Sabres ever wearing black. 8/10

Ryan for COTW. That jersey definitely stands out, it could be a winner.
I'll second Ryan for COTW. More gold jerseys!
Thanks for the help with the Under Armour template.
Now I just need to wait for the proper Pantone colors for Utah and I'll be able to put that template to use.
Ryan for COTW, although he already has two, hope this one wins!
