Weekend Update (May 5)
Greetings from sunny and beautiful Orlando, Florida!
First and foremost I am a jersey nerd, but in a close second I am a Disney nerd. This is my 11th visit to Walt Disney World and I've also been on the cruise and to the west coast to visit Disneyland.

The entrants for the COTY-April have now been listed in the red banner on the side of the page. Click that banner or go to the COTY 2013 tab to see the concepts. Voting ends on Friday.
The new COTW nominees have been listed. There weren't any concepts nominated and properly seconded last week. As per the COTW rules, I was forced to jump in and name the COTW nominees myself.
Alan's Hartford Wolfpack competition seems to be in its voting phase now. Click the banner at the top of the page for all of the details. Voting ends on Friday.
Speaking of Friday, there won't be a post on that day. We will be bringing on Ricky to write on Friday's for HJC. However, seeing as I am on vacation right now it would be a little too difficult to get him setup this week. So we will wait until next Friday for his debut.
Your comments also won't be published until the end of each day. It may even take two days to publish them. Remember, I'm on vacation. So, make sure to nominate a concept if you think it deserves it and don't wait for someone else to do it.
While I have your attention, I will list the small things that bother me about the playoffs. I love the playoffs, so these are only minor issues. Yet, I complain about them every year.
1. I HATE how the NBC networks and the NHL Network get their logo on the boards because they broadcast every game. However, so do CBC and TSN yet they only get their logo on the boards if the game is in Canada. Both national broadcasters should always get their logo on the boards wherever the game is.
2. This one may be stupid to others, but I hate how national American sponsors get to advertise on the boards regardless of where the game is. In the Ottawa-Montreal series, Verizon Wireless and Discover cards are all over the boards. There are no Discover cards in Canada and Verizon Wireless isn't legally allowed to provide phone service in Canada even if they wanted to.
3. This is the big one. No matter the teams that play in the Stanley Cup Final, both the American and Canadian national anthems should be preformed.
