Weekend Update (October 27)
If you're reading this it means that I have not yet had time to get to completing the Weekend Update.
Right now, I can tell you that Tom won the COTW.
There are several entries in contention for the IIHF Bottom 10 comp.
The new competition will be to design the 2013 HJC Concept of the Year logo. Details to come, but make sure it has 12 stars on it (any style), uses the HJC logo (I'll make that available soon), and uses the HJC colours. Don't submit anything until you see the comp banner on the page. I hope to have this post finished tonight or tomorrow morning at the latest.
The winner of the COTW for Oct 14-20 was Tom V!
Thank you to everyone who voted. The increased participation was much appreciated. Lets try to increase that number for this week's vote as well. If you didn't vote this week, don't worry. Anyone can vote and there's a COTW and/or COTY vote every week.
The winner of the IIHF Bottom 10 was Matt Mc's Ireland concept!
The new COTW nominees have been listed on the side of the page for Oct. 21-27. You can click that banner to see the nominated concepts. Or you can go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK page. Anyone can vote remember, and voting ends on Friday.
The new competition on HJC will be to design the 2013 Concept of the Year logo. Click the banner at the top of the page or go to the COTY LOGO COMP tab for all of the rules and details. Entries are due by Friday.
If you haven't seen the link on the side of the page yet, I started a sub-blog called the HJC Design Blog. There I will discuss anything that comes to my mind that is hockey and design related. Don't expect it to be updated nearly as much as HJC is. Any time I do add new content I will post links on the HJC Twitter feed and the HJC Facebook page. If you have any ideas for articles or you have written an article yourself, then email it in and you'll receive full credit.
A final small note. It would be really helpful when you submit your concepts if you could title the files in the following manner; Say your name is John Smith and you made a concept for the Washington Capitals, you would title that concept, "JohnSmith-WSH". This is NOT mandatory, it only helps me get through emails quicker. I know there are already several rules with submitting concepts, so I'm not making this mandatory at all. Just IF you feel like helping out, that's how you can do it. Again, NOT MANDATORY.
So, here are those voting reminders. You may look at them and think "meh, the usual". Look again...
