Weekend Update (November 3)

Well now it's official. I'm 30. My birthday was Friday. Am I the oldest guy on HJC? I think there are a few people who submit stuff that are older, but I'm definitely amongst the oldest. I'm pretty sure I'm older than all of the HJC Writers!

Anyways, if there is a jersey purchase to be made I will share it with you guys here on HJC. Right now I'm debating with myself between a #35 REESE Hartford Whalers jersey, a #99 GRETZKY Blues jersey, or something else that doesn't have anything to do with hockey. If you've read this blog long enough you may know why I want a Jeff Reese jersey.

Yes, it was sent in late. However, Matt informed me, before the deadline, that he had it done and I granted him the extension.

The new COTW nominees for the week of October 28 - November 3 have been listed on the side of the page. You can see the nominated concepts by clicking on the banner or by going to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab. Voting ends on Friday.

-----------------------------------------------

Voting can now also begin for the COTY logo competition. This time it is a TOP THREE vote. So don't be sending in 5 votes, unless you really want to frustrate me and tempt me to not count your votes. All of the details, rules, and entries can be found on the competition page. Click the banner too.

Here are some new layers for the HJC Drag & Drop Template

They are the new style yokes that the Flames' 3rd jersey uses. Place that file in the YOKES folder. The other file is for the new body stitching for the Flames' 3rd jersey. Place that file in the BODY folder. If you don't have the HJC Drag & Drop Template yet, go to the TEMPLATES page and it's the first link there. These files will be included when you download.

Also, Colin has updated his 2014 Nike Swift Template.

Now here's where I tell you to vote. And you roll your eyes because you know that you need to vote. Then I roll my eyes because not enough people vote. Then the people that don't care roll their eyes because they don't care. Then we all roll our eyes at them because seriously, how can you not care? Just save all that effort and email in your votes now!

Why is the new Nike template so tailored? Real hockey players aren't shaped like that.

On top of that, those of us who use MSPaint to do our work can't put TV numbers on sleeves at a 45-degree angle. I have Paint.net, but it's a real challenge to use.

@Anon: It's only an option. No one said you HAD to use that template.

Happy Birthday.

I'm a very occasional submitter and I guess I'm one of the old guys - turned 45 last month.

I would love to have that Gretsky jersey. The design is just so striking and memorable.

I'm 48, so I'm definitely one of the old guys here.
