Weekend Update (January 12)
Hello HJC readers!
Thanks for coming back to check out the Weekend Update, even if it is 7 hours late.
The winner of the COTY-December vote was Matt Mc!
Matt and his Wild concept now move onto the very important 4th Quarter Vote. The entrants for this vote are listed on the side of the page in the grey banner. You can see the concepts by clicking on the banner or by going to the COTY 2013 page.
Same voting rules apply, but as you can probably tell this is a very important vote to participate in. Voting ends on Friday and the winner moves on to the Concept of the Year Semi-Finals
Are you wondering how those Concept of the Year Semi-Finals will work. It will be the same as the past two years. In case you haven't been around for the past two years take a look at this handy bracket.
The winner of the COTW vote for Dec 30 - Jan 5 was Caleb F., but we already knew that. It was his Saskatchewan Wheat concept that took it home.
The new COTW nominees are listed on the side of the page in the black banner. You can see the concepts by clicking on the banner or by going to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK page. Anyone can vote and voting ends on Friday.
The winner...the WINNERS of the Delaware Pioneers jersey competition are Matt R. and Austin E!
Matt and Austin will now have their jerseys produced and worn by the club. They will also receive a jersey themselves. I will be in touch with Matt and Austin soon. A huge thank you to everyone that participated!!! Ben, from the club, noted that it was a very difficult choice and he wanted to thank everyone that entered.
It's now time for a new competition to start on HJC. This week will be the AHL Stadium Series Competition. Check out the AHL SS COMP page or click the banner at the top for all of the rules and details.
For those of you that applied to be the new Wednesday writer on HJC. I will be thoroughly going through all of the applications tonight. The selected applicant will hear from me within the next couple of days. Their first post will be January 22.
Ok, keep breathing. Here it is. The 3rd most important vote of the year on HJC. Think about if you were in this vote. You would want people to vote. You wouldn't want a weak turnout and lose by a 2-1 score. So take the 30 seconds right now and send in your votes...PLEASE!!!!
Thanks for coming back to check out the Weekend Update, even if it is 7 hours late.

Mind = Blown... I have never won a competition but to actually have my idea be brought to life in crazy!!!
When are the new writers announced?
@Joey: Um, that's covered in the post...
@Matt: Congrats!
Sorry @Ryan... I'm tired and didn't see it. I'm working on my AHL Stadium Series jerseys.
Wow. I am overwhelmed with excitement about this news. Huge thanks to Ryan and Ben for the opportunity, can't wait to see these hit the ice! Congrats to Matt too! P.S does this mean our concept gets put into the COTW voting?
@Austin: No, the AHL Stadium Series winner will be the first to move into COTW.
@Austin and Ryan
But you could still resubmit your jerseys, get reviewed, nominated, and voted on like every other non-contest jerseys, right? Doesn't mean for sure you'd make it to COTW, but it could still happen.
