Sunday: Baby I'm Back, You Can Blame It All On Me
I'll start today by welcoming my beautiful new daughter, Mya, into the world!
She was born on Friday, October 3rd and life has been wild ever since. I've constantly been forgetting which day it is and I nearly forgot to write the Sunday post!
I'd really like to thank everyone that sent along their congratulations and well wishes. I've never met any of you in person, but your words are a bit humbling and very much appreciated.
Before we went on break we had a COTW vote in progress (Sept 22-28). The winner of that vote was Matt M.
Matt had high hopes for that concept in the Griffins Competition. Hopefully this is a small consolation prize. Perhaps it can move even further through our Concept of the Year process. It's now time for the COTY-September vote! All the COTW winners from September go into one vote and that winner will move into the 3rd Quarter Vote (held next week). Voting ends on Friday, just like all other votes.
During the last week of concept posts before the break, only one concept was properly nominated and seconded for COTW. That was CPM's Kansas City Scouts concept. As per the COTW rules (found on the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab) I now get to select the nominees. CPM's concept will obviously be there and it will go up against Taylor R's Turun (Finnish League Tier 2) concept! Fill in the blank; voting ends on ____________!
There might be some people that read this blog and would love to get involved in making concepts, but aren't exactly skilled (or don't have the time) for Photoshop, Paint.net, Illustrator, etc. No worries! I encourage those people to go to our TEMPLATES page and print one of our templates. Then get out your markers and pencil crayons and do it the old fashioned way. Now you can scan it or take a properly lit picture of it and send it into HJC!

so you're letting artists hand-draw their concepts now? sweet. that's how i made my concepts back in the day. XD looks like a new series for me. your new daughter looks really cute btw. i hope she will live a long, prosperous life. :)
Did anyone else notice during the HNIC opening Saturday, the Rangers jersey was the Kitchener Rangers, not New York.
Beautiful baby! Glad to have you back!
