Sunday: The COTW Mailing List
The winner of the COTW vote for October 20-26 was CPM and his Whalers concept!
The new set of COTW nominees for October 27 - November 2 have been listed on the side of the page. Click that banner to see the nominated concepts or go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab. Voting ends on Friday, so be sure to email your vote in before then.
I'm starting a "COTW mailing list". If you choose to be put on the list you will receive an email from HJC every week that reminds you to vote for COTW! You'll simply need to reply to the email with your vote and it will be counted!
Lots of people email in concepts, but far less than half of those people email in votes. The idea of the COTW Mailing List is to help increase voting. You don't have to reply to the email, but this can make voting easier for everyone. It's also not a requirement to be on the COTW Mailing List to vote.
If you want to be put on the COTW Mailing List, send an email to concepts@HockeyJerseyConcepts.com. Use "COTW Mailing List" in the subject line. Be sure to send the request using the email address that you want to receive the reminders with.
Over the past two weeks I've been asking for you guys to send in 5 year Anniversary logos for HJC. Here is what came in...
As you can see from the banner at the top of the page, I went with Christian's logo. All this month that logo will be used in the banner. We'll also have some special events leading up to the official anniversary on Saturday, November 22nd. I'll be doing a HJC Podcast on that day (live or taped, TBD) where I'll answer any questions you guys may have about HJC. More on that in the coming weeks though.
This week I finally finished up a post on the HJC Design Blog about all the different levels of jerseys available for sale to the public. If you don't know how to spot a fake jersey, think you can spot a fake jersey from 100 miles away, or fall somewhere in between there then I would go check it out. You'll probably learn something. There's also a couple of cool detailed pics of some of my jerseys. Check it out HERE.
The Quad City Mallards Competition ended on Friday. We had 92 entries, which was fantastic! I was pushing for 80, so well done everyone that entered. The Mallards plan to announce the winner during their November 21 game against the Rapid City Rush. We all know how these things go, so it would be nice if that was the actual date, but don't be surprised if it's later.
My favourites were Caz W, Ross T, and Samantha L.
If the Griffins were picking the winner it would probably be Nathan N. (joking!)
I wanted to start a new competition today, but it will have to wait until next week to officially get started. If you're one of the lucky people who actually reads the Sunday post, you're privy to the details.
The next competition will be a CHL ReDesign. You will be allowed to ReDesign one team from each of the three leagues that make up the CHL (WHL, OHL, QMJHL). You may only ReDesign the home and road jerseys. There must be two jerseys on your entry. Not one, not three, not seven. TWO! New logos, existing logos, they're both allowed. Any template is allowed. DO NOT send in your entries until next week. I'm not accepting them now.
We'll get a winner from each league and then we'll get our overall winner from those three league winners. That winner will move into the next COTW vote!
Every Sunday I tell you to email in your vote with your concepts. Now you can shut me up here and have my words delivered straight to your inbox. Sign-up for the COTW Mailing List now!

I love Colin's Hartford concept, but doesn't the thick outline on the logo defeat the whole purpose of the "H"?
Christian, I don't think it negates the effect entirely, but it does make it a little harder to notice. Congratulation on the logo, by the way. It matches the banner logo well.
Thanks for the endorsement, Ryan. There were so many good concepts in this competition, that it's good just to be in anyone's top three.
It pretty much negates the H a lot, you're right Christian. But the goal was to match the thick striping.
And to be honest guys, doing any Hartford concept justice is a pain in the butt. Hartford has become kind of an untouchable, wouldn't you guys agree?
@Colin: agreed
