Friday: English Footy is Getting in on This Post
TGIF!
Welcome to the Friday post!
The slightly underdog Mooseheads are off to the 2nd round of the President's Cup playoffs to become real underdogs against the Moncton Wildcats. Good job so far! Not to even mention the Jets going off to the postseason for the first time since 1996.
Great goaltending got them there. Thanks Pavs & Hutchinson!

The deadline for the Pairs Competition will be extended. The deadline will be pushed to Wednesday at 11:59pm Eastern.

Thanks Ryan!
That being said, voting has not been extended, so that still ends tonight! It takes 30 seconds, remember to get your vote in, it's what makes the world go round and butters your toast!
On to the concepts!
Dallas Stars Concepts (By: Mike S.)
+ I likes the Stars jerseys a lot, but that isn't to say you can't tweet with the design, and Mikes does a decent job here!
+ I think the green may be darker than it currently is, which loots better
+ The 3 tier striping like what the Stars work as the Northstars in 80's and current Stars away jersey looks great
+ The font is a lateral move, but I love the Stars font so much, saying it's a lateral move is a good thing
+ Pretty good execution
- Shoulder patches are too small
- The stripping would look better is it were thicker
- The green yoke on the white jersey is a keeper, the jersey looks too white without it, same thing with the hexagonal yoke shape
- Don't forget helmet logos
Rating: 7.75/10
Los Angeles Kings Concepts (By: Ryan C.)
+ Maybe the Kings would make the playoffs again if they brought back the purple, and made it their main colour, which looks great
+ LA logo looks amazing in purple
+ Glad to see the crown logo come back
+ Good execution
- Perhaps a more Forum Blue esque purple would look better, especially on the gear and socks
- The LA logo is not strong enough to be a primary, and the jersey would look better with the crown as a primary and LA on the shoulders
- Purple yoke seems pointless when coupled with the purple cuffs & hem
Rating: 8.25/10
St. Louis Blues Concept (By: Bpoe96)
+ Would love to see the Blues throwback to red
+ Nice use of the "guitar stripes" striping
+ Trumpet logo and recoloured modern font and blues note are great logos
+ The red doesn't dominate the jersey like the 1995 Gretzky jerseys, and the yellow numbers stick out much more (probably due to the font) which makes the jerseys look like a healthy medium between 1992 Blues & 1995
- No red on the pants
-One problem the font does have is the name being hard to read in yellow against the blue, the 1989 blues had a white name and that would look better
- The Fleur de Lis, which does have meaning to St. Louis, just isn't as strong as the trumpet logo andb be better suited on the pants
Rating: 8.75/10
San Diego Gulls Concepts (By: Jake88)
+ The Gulls referencing the Ducks without just copying them is the best we can expect, since 3/5 teams of the AHL Pacific division are just wearing their parent team's template
+ I'm really digging the light blue instead of copper
+ Amazing execution, as expected form Jake88
+ Just an overall appealing design
- This may have to do with the lack of shoulder patch the Gulls have yet to unveil, but the jersey would look better with a shoulder patch
-White cuffs might look good
Rating: 9/10 COTW Nom from me!
New Jersey Devils Concept (By: Ben M.)
+ It is hard to work with a Devils jersey without the standard Devils logos, and I'll give Ben full credit for trying to work with something new
+ The alternate looks great, I'm really warming up to the unused logo
+ The shadowy Devils logo as a shoulder patch looks fantastic
+ The Devil head looks great, again for a non NJ logo
- The chest stripe doesn't really work, the arms look good, but the stripe interests the logo and blend in on the white jersey
- The throwback doesn't need any shoulder patches
- The black jersey logo has a very fuzzy border, and white border instead of a red one
Rating: 7.5/10
Chelsea FC EPL Concepts (By: Phil B.)
+ The jersey takes cues from Chelsea's current kits, especially in the yoke
+ Simple striping works really well for such a historic tram
+ Love the poppy on the arm stripes
+ Good execution
- Next year's kits will have red as a very subtle stripe, and that would look really good
- Phoenix's font looks okay for Chelsea but it is still Phoenix's font and need an outline
More gold in the striping couldn't hurt
Rating: 8.5/10
Everton FC EPL Concepts (By: Phil B.)
+ It's hard with blue teams to distinguish them apart sometimes, but Phil makes these two blue teams distinguishable
+ Jets esque striping always welcome
+ Good execution
- In this case, there really should have been a more unique font, not Washington's old font
- Not a huge fan of the yoke, and the jersey would look better without them
Rating: 7.75/10
That's the post!
Don't forget to vote and keep working on those Pairs Comp. entries
Go Jets Go!

Jets, check out the sublimated striping on the Chelsea concepts. I'll let you find them.
I'm going to disagree with you and say that you absolutely cannot tweet with the Stars' jersey design.
