Saturday: Voting Orgy
Hi everyone!
Did you get enough voting this week on the blog? And we've got three more for you this week!
COTY-November, COTW, and Barrie Colts.
If these polls haven't forced you to get a Google account by now you should really consider signing up for one. It's free and to really have your opinion count here you'll need a Google account.
Perhaps you missed yesterday's post? It went up a bit late and didn't feature a write up until late in the night. Go check it out now. Those artists would appreciate your feedback.
The winner of the final COTW vote in November was Ryan C's Grand Rapids Griffins concept.
Ryan's concept moves into the COTY-November vote, which begins now! All four COTW winners from November come together to see who moves onto the 4th Quarter Vote. It's all part of the system to determine the 2015 Concept of the Year. Perhaps you're new here and you didn't know that the winner of the Concept of the Year actually receives a championship plaque to mark their accomplishment. Voting for COTY-November ends on Friday at 11:59pm Eastern time. You can see the entered concepts by clicking the link in the red poll or by going to the COTY 2015 tab.
The new COTW nominees for the week of November 29 to December 5 have been listed on the side of the page. That's the black poll over there ---> Voting ends on Friday at 11:59pm Eastern. To see the concepts nominated, click the link in the poll or go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab.
The entries are all in for the Barrie Colts Competition. You can see them by clicking the banner at the top of the page or by going to the BARRIE COLTS tab. While on that page you can also vote for the winner of the competition. Voting ends on Friday at 10:59pm Eastern. That's an hour earlier than all the other votes going on here.
I've also opened up the comments section on the BARRIE COLTS page. Feel free to leave your thoughts on the entries and why you did and did not choose some concepts.
As you can tell from the voting system for the Barrie Colts Competition, that poll style won out over our traditional Top 5 voting. It wasn't even close as the polls won that vote 49-16. As long as these polls don't show any signs of "corruption" then we will certainly continue on with them.

I'm not a fan of the one vote system for competition voting because then every person who entered is just gonna vote for themselves and then you put your faith into those who didn't make an entry to vote and the anonymity of the vote worries me.
I agree with what Taylor is saying. I don't know a lot about Google forms but if you could select your 3 or 5 favorite in the poll that might solve that problem.
I also agree, of course basically everyone will vote for themself. Plus this contest was really good and there were quite a few i would have liked to vote for
I agree as well, I felt obligated not to pick my own concept even though I really liked my own. You spend so much time working on your idea that by default you'll always like yours since you made it. Top 3 or 5 would be great.
We will see how this voting system turns out. I think there are enough people reading that don't submit concepts that can help with the voting. There's always me. I typically don't have time to submit an entry, but I do have time to vote. I personally believe that this voting system will work.
As I am writing this 33 votes have been cast for 16 different entries. That's way better than 33 votes for all 21 entries.
