Sunday: Makin It on the Fly!
Hi everybody. Lost track of time and almost didn't make this in time for this Sunday. Close one on that.
Anyways, no new competition this week because we have the first week for The Season happening! That being said, you still have time to vote for something that won't have effect on you for the next four years like us Americans will do on Tuesday. I'm talking about the COTW. Get to it.
To the Concepts!
Positives: The design and color balance looks really good on this overall. minimizing the black and giving the Flames a more traditional look turned out really well here.
Negatives: This looks a lot like the St. Louis blues. While I am a fan of the St. Louis blues, this just looks really close and this could go under more of a crossover.
Overall: 7.75/10
Positives: See that you didn't stray too far from the original, I really like the chest striping. It doesn't look like it was copied off of the former Blackhawks Winter Classic striping. The simple black and yellow work really well with the striping and give it a classic look.
Negatives: The only thing I don't like about the chest stripe is that you cut it off. It just looks strange that way.
Overall: 8.5/10
Positives: Side note: Yes the throwback looks beautiful and should have never been ditched. Anyways: I like that you made a custom half sleeve design that has a bit of flames at the bottom.
Negatives: The bottom looks kind of bare with just the accent hem stripe.
Overall: 8/10
Positives: Really like this striping you have on the arms. It has a really good look to it and just a nice balance on the jersey. Also, the hem works beautifully with the sleeves.
Negatives: That collar on the dark jersey just looks strange compared to the white jersey.
Overall: 9/10 COTW NOMINEE
Positives: The red and yellow color scheme is a nice decision.
Negatives: This looks like a 1990's minor league/ roller hockey jersey. I know you could come up with a much more powerful look than just slapping flames on a jersey. Bring the flames into the striping.
Overall: 5/10

Taylor Roy- Vancouver Giants

Taylor Roy's Giants concept for COTW! I'd actually go to Giants games again if they wore those and not those monstrosities they wear now.
