Avi's concept now moves on to the COTY-August vote! Also moving on to the monthly vote is Brad's NYR concepts from the HJC Open. Brad enters this vote due to his HJC Open win!. That monthly vote starts right now! You can see the entrants on the 2011 COTY page and Committee members can email their vote in. The COTY-August vote will run until Thursday @ 11:59pm EST.

The logo at centre ice is complete! Maybe you have had this same moment at some point this summer, but seeing that logo on the ice, in the building was the moment when it TRULY hit me that the Winnipeg Jets are back and will be playing games in the NHL this year! 7 Canadian teams!
Now we see the centre ice logo is in and that the jerseys will be released at noon on Tuesday. That day is going to be huge!
I mentioned a couple of days ago that I mistakenly deleted the emails of those who wanted to be on an NHL 12 EASHL team this year. If you're interested shoot me an email...again.

Spirit modifies the Winter Classic jersey and creates a complete set. Then he added a new 3rd jerseys which I think is a better 3rd jersey than what they have now. I think it could lose the yoke outline though.
Ottawa Senators concept (by Dave C.)
This is a solid jersey design. The "O" logo looks good here even as just a "flag" instead of the stripes wrapping all the way around the chest.
Los Angeles Kings concept (by Tex)
In time the Kings may alter their home jersey to match the striping of their new road jersey, or vice versa. I think the collar might not be white though, and personally I'm not a fan of it being white.
Winnipeg Jets concept (by Kalin)
The Jets will honour the military by unveiling their new sweaters at a base nearby. Kalin takes it another step with this cool tribute jersey. This would be great as a one night warm up jersey. It's 10x better than the military jerseys they warm up in now (and then try to get you to purchase for $100 or more!).
New York Americans concept (by Brian)
This is a well put together concept. Brian takes the 1937 New York Americans logo and places it on a scaled back version of their "stars and stripes" jersey. If the Islanders HAD to move (I don't want them to), I'd like to seem them go to Brooklyn and take on the Americans' name.
Philadelphia Flyers concepts (by Matt D.)
Matt has been making HJC his own personal playground this week with his stellar concepts. Today he contributes an Edge'd version of the 1982-83 Flyers jerseys, with a black alternate. Any of these could be seen at this season's Winter Classic. It would be terribly unsafe, yet cool, if they would wear the same 82-83 Cooperalls pants!

@Ryan I do believe that hockey technology has advanced enough for Bauer (modern Cooper) to make some safe Cooperalls for the Winter Classic. Also, Matt gets another COTW nom for his Flyers concept. Holy Crap Matt! You need your own freaking website! Matt is the poster boy for HJC in my opinion.

I agree that Matt makes some great concepts, but I totally disagree with your last comment. Many people send in concepts to HJC, how do you think that last comment made them feel. They put in hard work on their concepts, and if I sent in concepts, I know I would feel sad if someone just sad someone else is the poster boy. HJC is for people to get better at concepts, so it really does not need a "poster boy".
Pains me everytime i see the word jets. Still hurts to know i wont have a team to cheer on in the town i live in for a little while.
@Anonymous2: Unfortunately, there just weren't nearly enough of people like you in Atlanta.
God that Flyers set is sick but if any of those are used in the Winter Classic I am gonna be pissed. As cool as those jerseys are they aren't throwback enough to be worn once in this game. Maybe if they tried a rebrand (which they don't need).

@HJC: Well small bit of that was the cause. MAin reason was ownership was shitty.
it pisses me off to see people in my own city (Vancouver) actually LIKE the jets. not design wise but team wise. 35 of my friends on Facebook "like" the Winnipeg Jets. hell, people at my work showed up wearing "jets hockey" shirts with the new logo on it. i know people who are all like "Yeah man the jets are gonna do so good this year, i hope they make it deep in the playoffs." perhaps they're unaware that the canucks and jets were HUGE rivals throughout the early 90's or the are huge idiots. i hate this city so much.

Poster boy, really? HJC has no poster boy, nor does it need one. and Felix's concept looks horrible, he just butchered the Rangers concept I made.
I think everyone who is horribly upset by BaWF's comment regarding Matt as the HJC poster boy needs to grow some thicker skin. This is a community forum and obviously BaWF was simply just trying to compliment Matt on having some great stuff recently. It wasn't a dig at any of the rest of us. And @Anonymous1, I'm a regular contributor to this site and my feelings weren't hurt at all by the comment. Congrats Matt on sending in some insanely good stuff, I hope you keep on doing so.

Still, poster boy? I don't get bothered by much, but if one person gets singled out in a group of people who are incredibly talented, I know I would get mad.
I'm sorry but I don't see the problem in saying Matt is producing better stuff than nearly everyone else on this site right now. It's true. Talented people such as ourselves should be perfectly ok in recognizing the best talent at the moment. Ignore the phrase poster boy and it still doesn't change the fact that Matts stuff is better than nearly everyone else's (the past few days), mine surely included.
Also, ever heard of an MVP? That's the definition of what upsets you so much.
Matts concepts are good, but still, I don't see why he has to be singled out over every other concept designer.
Oh come on. HJC isn't some utopian competition free zone. This site is all about competition. People are better than others. Matt has been singled out because as of this week, he's the best and deserves the recognition he's getting.

Well, I don't think poster boy was the right word, I didn't even think it was the right word when I posted it, I just can't think of something better. Anyone who feels offended, I apologize too, but I won't take back my comment unless I think of a better word. And all you Anomymouses have no right to complain unless you get a google account. Those are the people with the authority to make COTW noms and seconds, they should be the people who can say what's right and what's wrong. Really, is this even the big deal you're making it?
@Ricky: EASHL (EA Sports Hockey League) is a league of online teams in the EA Sports NHL video games. I'm trying to get people together for an xbox360 team for NHL 12.

HJC is not about competition, it is about people getting better at concepts! Even read the contact page, Ryan wrote himself that HJC is all about people getting better.
