MTL/CALF DHL Entries #2

Today is the final day to vote for the COTW! The vote ends at 11:59pm EST tonight, so Committee Members get your vote in! As of this posting only 4 people have voted.

Last night the Islanders proved all the leaks right and unveiled their new 3rd jersey. After looking at it on the players, in full uniform, I don't hate it as much as I thought I would. I still don't think it suits the Islanders though. As you can see below, they went with a traditional name and number layout as opposed to the namebar that we saw in the first leak. Also, opposed to what we saw in the first leak, they went with black pants that do not have the player number on them. Yes, my impression of it did improve, but it's still not an awesome jersey, so I give it a 6/10.

Of course with every new jersey release you get the blank template from HJC. (click & save)This will go on the blank team templates page, which can be found in a link at the bottom of the TEMPLATES page.

I also tried to whip up the new wordmark from the front of the sweater. That was the best I could do, we'll have to wait to see if something official gets posted somewhere.

Here are some more DHL entries that have come in.

QUICK HITS

New York Rangers Winter Classic concept (by Michael N.)
Detroit Red Wings concept (by Colin)

All Star Game concepts (by Keenan)The presentation here is a little too pixelated. Looking past that, the sweaters are based off of the new Sens alt, as is the number and NOB. I like them, but it seems that All Star jerseys go a little more of the unconventional route.

Buffalo Sabres concept (by WinnipegJets96)Jets96 reverses the yellow and silver and then replaces that silver with white. I personally think this would look better if the white and yellow didn't switch places, but still keep the white for silver switch. He's also removed the Reebok piping and arm pits!

Tampa Bay Lightning concepts (by Steven G.)Steven uses all those favourite Lightning jersey elements (victory stripes, bolt on pants) with the shoulder patch as the main logo. He's also added gold as a secondary colour, which gives the Lightning ANOTHER new identity. This looks great and I would really like to see some team utilize this colour scheme in the future.

Anaheim Ducks concept (by Avi)I think this is what the Ducks' 3rd jersey would look like if they stuck with it through the re-branding and the Edge-ification. I can't think of anything to object to on this concept, so COTW nomination from me!

Remember, vote for COTW!

Avi has a really great Ducks jersey there!
Avi, if I could ask you, where did you come up with the idea for your Flyers Winter Classic design? Because I talked to someone today at work and they said its the real thing and you nailed it spot for spot!

@Kevin: a man from hfboards sent me a file that had the picture on icethetics and a few other designs being considered, but he asked me not to leak it. i sent it to ryan and chris from icethetics but they both said that they wouldnt post it, so i just put together my concept based off of one of the uniforms that was on that file. i can send you the file if you want.

I think the next time an NHL team or any other hockey team wants to redesign their uniforms they should come to this web site and forget about reebok because they don't know how to.
