COTW Jan 2-8 (ends Thursday @ 11:59pm EST)
3rd Jersey Top 5 Vote (ends Sunday @ 11:59pm EST)

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Toledo Walleye concepts (by Elias)
The home and away jerseys have a really great retro look to them. They remind me of what Michigan wore for their outdoor game about a year ago, The Big Chill at The Big House. The blue alternate is good too, but I'd like to see some yellow in it somewhere. Perhaps as an outline on the numbers?

Pittsburgh Penguins concept (by Martin)
The colours of this jersey are based on the old Pittsburgh Hornets. I'm not sure the grey numbers stand out enough on this. I think black with a vintage white outline would be better. Also, I think the sock pattern is a little too modern for the throwback jersey.

Montreal Canadiens concepts (by Stephen T.)
Stephen has removed the thin hem stripes from the red Habs sweaters, but he's added collar laces. A couple of errors here are that the player's name is spelled GIONTA. Also, the captain's C has been placed in the armpit and it would not be visible if Gionta were to wear it. I like the vintage pants and it would be cool if Montreal used those, at least in some part.

St. John's Ice Caps concepts (by Thomas)
This is a nicely executed concepts, with only the vertical jersey stitching being an issue. I like how Thomas went with blue cuffs on the white jersey. My two suggestions would be to have a white outline around the wordmark on the blue jersey and to have a Jets logo anywhere, just to make the connection to the big club.

Minnesota Wild concepts (by Steven G.)
Ummm...Steven played around with the Wild's colours a bit here. Actually, other than the logo they don't look too much like the Wild now. I really like the jerseys though! I think this would be a great look for a NCAA team, you just need to find a school that is the right fit for these colours.

Team Israel concept (by Jeremy T.)
Israel is ranked 40/48 by the IIHF. Their logo is actually pretty good, especially for a lower ranked nation. The jerseys that Jeremy has made fit well with that logo. Execution note; a couple of the diagonal stripes at the hem have wandered outside of the lines.

Team USA concept (by MasonII)
I like this because it's straight forward and it looks good. This would be a good 3rd jersey for some tournament at some point. The stripes should go over top of the jersey stitching though. Also, on the sides of the jersey and just under the arm is mesh, and Nike doesn't typically continue jersey stripes across those areas.

Montreal Canadiens concept (by D3troit1388)
It's hard to find fault with this fauxback Canadiens concept. Only the vertical jersey stitching above the hem stripes would be an issue. The design itself is really good, the only problem with it might be the maple leaf shoulder patches. COTW nomination from me!

San Jose Sharks concept (by HJC)
I was watching an old game from the '94 playoffs between the Leafs and Sharks and I really like the style of numbers the Sharks used then. The more I looked at it, the more I really enjoyed the whole jersey. Then I thought it would have been cool for the Sharks to have made their black alternate with inspiration from their original sweaters.

D3troit1388: Yours is just awesome! I gota agree with Ryan to change the color of the shoulder patches. This logo on the bottom may be the best option for you. http://sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=6384 However, the old english "C" would look better. With that one editions, this could be a real alt for them. CTOW from me as well

I like the simplicity of MasonII's team USA concept - and simplicity has always been the trademark of team USA. I'd love to see a white version of it. I agree with Ryan for the small technical issues, but other than that, could be COTW for me!
