Week of February 6-12, 2012
Sorry for the late post. A lot of things going on in the Haslett household these days, haha.
The winner or the All Star Game Jerseys Competition is Thallos with the concepts below!
I will have the full results tomorrow. Until then, here are the top 3.
The COTW nominees have been determined and are listed on the side of the page. You can click that banner or go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK page to see the nominated concepts.
Here is a rundown of the ongoing votes here on HJC;
You might have seen this on the Facebook page, if not don't go there and spoil the small amount of fun you may be about to have. Take a look at the picture below and try to see if you can spot what is wrong in it. The answer will be at the end of this post.
Introducing the new HJC competition.

Not a lot of time tonight, so my comments will be short.
Real Betis concept (by Martin)
This is a concept for Martin's favourite soccer team. It's actually a re-do of the first ever concept he sent in a year or so ago.
Toronto Maple Leafs concept (by Spirit104)
Ok, so you know I'm not going to like this because the Leafs are supposed to be blue and white. Maybe someone with an unbiased opinion can give some good feedback on this?
Columbus Blue Jackets concept (by Jay B.)
I like this concept and I like the pants that go along with it. Pretty well executed too except for the TM which has been left on the logo.
Columbus Blue Jackets concepts (by Kyle C.)
Simple and classic and I really like them! How much longer will you be able to put #7 Carter on the back of your Jackets concepts?
Cleveland Crusaders concepts (by Chris Z.)
I like the jerseys, I just wish the purples were consistent. Does everyone know about the off-shoot site from NHLuniforms.com, WHAuniforms.com?
Cleveland Barons concept (by Dave C.)
Love this retro Edge'd look. That Barons logo is great as well and using the wordmark on the front of the sweater looks fantastic. I would love to see the Barons again, I just don't think they would survive in the NHL.
Dallas Stars concept (by MasonII)
So, the star jersey pattern should go over top of the stitching. I do like this as an alternate option, but Reebok says that it's "impossible to make". They said the same thing about the Ottawa 67's barberpole sweaters.
Dallas Stars concepts (by Brian B.)
Brian uses his modified Stars logo that was posted a week or so ago. The sweaters look great and the pants do as well.
Montreal Canadiens concept (by Stéphane)
Stéphane continues his quest to find the Canadiens a new yet respectable and classic 3rd jersey. I really love this concept and the photo mock-ups that Stéphane is supplying. COTW nom from me!

Answer to the photo at the beginning of the post; Zack Smith's right shoulder patch is upside down. Apparently it has been all season. Go check out photos of Smith wearing the red jersey anytime this season. The shoulder patch should be upside down! If the Sens place these game worn sweaters on sale, you can bet that Smith's sweater will go for a lot. Thanks to Nevill for the info.

Glad you like my Crusaders jerseys but what do you mean by the purple's being consistant? I made the 3rd's purple mainly because 3rd jerseys are usually a different color. They're purple because the background color inside the logo is purple.
Why is the purple on the home and road a different shade than what is used in the logo?
I never noticed it. I got the stand alone logo w/out the lettering from a different site than CCSL because he only has the lettering logo. If you'll notice on the WHA Uniforms page, the original jersey had a darker shade of purple in the crest than the version with the lettering.
hopefully we'll be able to keep putting #7 on the back of CBJ concepts, i bought one of his jerseys before the season started!
anyways, stephane's is awesome, cotw! how do you make a realistic jersey on the player?
@Avi take it from me, a die-hard Flyers fan, Jeff Carter is nothing but a distraction. If Columbus trades him for Jonathan Bernier like Ive heard, youll be a way better team. But I was in your position 2 years ago after buying an authentic Carter in black so I know how it feels
Stéphane got COTW nom from me!
Stephane for COTW
Stephane = CotW
@Stephane I love the jersey! COTW! To make the jersey on Price did you use PS? Or Illistrator/PS combo? Either way great work!
@Ryan I like design B a lot better. The brick work makes the logo complete. The only thing I don't like is how parts of the script logo go inside the fence. However it would cover up writing if it didn't. Anyways, great logo and great work on your whole WC set!
Glad you posted my Jackets concept! I'll make sure to leave off the (TM) logos next time.
I like the Leafs in gold, but reminds me of the poor use of the same color by Edmonton in recent years . . .
