The process of designing a HJC jersey to sell is well underway. If you missed the very detailed post on Saturday, be sure to check it out and leave your opinions. At this point, I am looking for PRIMARY LOGO ideas. If you want to create one and send it in please do so soon. Starting sometime this week I will be creating a page just for this process of creating the jersey.

-----------------------------------------------

Winnipeg Jets concepts (by Jesper)
The home and road jerseys are okay, but I don't like the grey at the hem. It just looks like a random grey hem to me. I like the 3rd jersey, but it seems very typical these days. The Classic uni is good, but I think it would be better with hem stripes.

Detroit Red Wings concepts (by John T.)
This striping pattern doesn't work for the Pens and Sens, and it never worked for the Bolts. It continues with those awesome results as I don't think it works for the Wings either. I do like the English style D as a shoulder patch though. Finally, it may just be me, but I find the background distracting. Anyone else? I think light, solid colours work best.

Quebec Owls concepts (by Ricky)
Ricky sent this into RinkGear.com for their "Make it 8" contest. The design is good, but it reminds me of the new Jets jerseys. Now that I have posted this, it appears that the owl logo has not been properly cited.

Montreal Canadiens concept (by Spirit104)
It's always risky trying out a new concept for teams like the Habs, but I think Spirit has done a decent job here. I prefer the Habs in red, but this is still VERY well executed. I also like that Spirit didn't use collar laces, which is so tempting to do when creating a "Original 6" concept.

St. Louis University concepts (by Chris Z.)
It appears that these guys currently use re-coloured NHL All-Star Game uni's for both their whites and their blues. While Chris' concepts are nicely executed, I don't think they are an upgrade. His 3rd jersey though, would be a nice compliment to the current busier primary sweaters.

Winter Classic concepts (by Kevin)
A couple of months ago we had Tom with an idea for a Winter Classic between Colorado and St. Louis. Here, Kevin has a very similar idea. The Avs' jersey looks fantastic as does the Blues'. They both do a really nice job of incorporating a lot of past eras of each franchise.

Abbotsford Heat concepts (by Steven G.)
Steven wanted to get the Heat away from using the Flames' jerseys, even though they are the parent club. These look really solid and suit the team well, but now they look like the Bolts' 3rd jerseys. I also like the flags as shoulder patches, maybe I'm the only one?

Pittsburgh Penguins concepts (by Matt M.)
These are wonderful! They remind me of the 90's sweaters, but better. It's hard to find something to say about these because I think they are near perfect. I might be against using the collar laces, but they are a trendy feature on sweaters and would probably help sell a few more if they were real. COTW nomination from me.

I like John T's wings. In fact, I think it's the first time I see a Wings concept that seems to fit. The road jersey is almost an updated version of the actual: the red portions on the arms are balanced. On the home one, we still have that enormous amount of red with the torso and upper arms. I think it's a very good option for a Wings farm club (cause let's face it, the Wings will never change their uniform...). COTW for it!

@ John T: Ryan is right about the background, it's annoying. The blue hue is stressing the eyes when next to the bright red of the jerseys.

Thanks Ryan and Stéphane for the tip about my backgrounds... I'll try something else !

Merci de vos opinions, sur mes fonds d'images... Je vais essayer autre chose ! Moi aussi, je trouve que modèle fit bien avec les Wings, mais c'était audacieux de changer leurs uniformes.

The Owl on my concept is Microsoft Clip Art which is free to use without copyright infringement . . .

HJC policy trumps that.

I actually do kinda like the current SLU jerseys Ryan, but I thought the fluer-de-lis on the side were not very easy to see and I'm not a huge fan of plain fronts. I do like the SL letters behind the Billiken head, but I thought that mine worked better w/just the head as a stand alone crest. I did however toy around with the idea of putting fleur-de-lis somewhere on the front, but to me the only team I can think of that they fit is the Quebec Nordiques. Even though STL was originally a French colony and the symbol is just as much a part of our heritage as it is theirs. And is it just me, or does anyone else find the use of the Penguins template for a Red Wings jersey just a bit funny, if not odd? I think it works OK for them, but I could never picture the Pens logo on the Wings template!
