Thursday: From The Isles
Welcome to the Thursday post jersey lovers, I'm going to make this post pretty quick today.
We've got a lot of stuff to vote for, lots of stuff going on at HJC so get involved peeps:
Thomas takes inspiration from the Brooklyn Nets and cleverly uses the black-white look with the four stripes, representing the Islanders' 4 championships. (7/10)
Surrey Eagles concept (by Steven G.)
I really like this look with a Whalers-esque color scheme. This really works well with the logo and overall this design is pretty good. (7/10)
Arsenal HC concept (by Colin M.)
Here's another Arsenal concept by Colin. I'm not sure the pinstripes work very well here. What makes they original Arsenal jerseys so well is its simplicity, which isn't necessarily achievable with a hockey jersey. (6/10)
Dallas Stars concept (by Kyle)
Going old-school, Kyle uses a brighter green with the gold and white to emulate the Northstar's original look. This is a great look; simple yet effective. (8/10)
New York Islanders concept (by Mattylop1)
There are simply too many colors, and there's too much going on. The multiple stripes (execution note: makes sure the corresponding stripes have the same widths) are very difficult to look at, and the colors don't work at all. (5/10)
Tampa Bay Lightning concept (by Stephen T.)
Taking a page out of Thomas' playbook, Stephen also goes with the black-white route but with the Lightning. I'm not sure this works as well, but kudos for using TB's original font. (6/10)
Springfield Falcons concept (by Avi)
Avi takes on CJB affiliate Springfield Falcons and simplifies their identity. This jersey is pretty classic-looking, but I'm not a fan of the different colored nameplate. (8/10)
New York Islanders concept (by Kyle)
Yup, another Isle's concept and this one doesn't disappoint. I'm loving the home jersey a lot, and I like the away jersey too, but I'd make all the stripes navy, with the stripes in between orange. (8/10)

I'll give Kyle's Isles set a COTW nom. Very sharp!
Thanks for the nomination Justin! The original plan was to put orange in between the blue stripes like you suggested. When I did it though, the colors didn't really have enough contrast to pull it off.
actually, the lightning did have a previous number font before that, as you can see here: http://www.nhluniforms.com/Lightning/Lightning01.html
