Monday: Win Win Win!

Hey guys, happy Monday, both of my teams won over the weekend so I am happy!

Here's today's HJC artist card

COTW voting has reset, so check out the concepts up for bid, there's only 3 up this week, so lets get the votes up, votes are due Friday

COTY for April is up for bid, check out the best from the month before. Votes are due Friday.

Finally, the Hartford Wolfpack re-design contest is entering it's voting phase. It is in top 5 format so get your votes in by Friday and send your votes to the HJC contest email, not the concept email.

On Saturday, I went to the Spring Hockey Card and Memorabilia Expo and picked up so new gear. I many many many many cards to add to my collection of 2010-2011 O-Pee-Chee cards, 2 game worn jerseys, one is a UHL Kalamazoo Wings black jersey, and a game worn Toronto Blue Jays practice jersey. I really wish we could some how have a booth at the show to promote our website and show off the work we have, but that's just wishful thinking, I think if you are in the GTA, and you like hockey cards or memorabilia, you should watch out for it.

Blainville-Boisbriand Armada Concepts (By: Bastian S.)

The long named Armada currently wear Blackhawks Winter Classic clones, and look decent, in fact, dare I say good, but they certainly could use a unique look. The chest stripe looks good, and dividing it in two looks much better and matches the logo some what. The arm striping that matches the chest stripe looks cool, and the hem stripe is a nice touch. I can't really think of any complaints, maybe a third colour, but that's nit picky, good job Bastian. (8.5/10)

Shawinigan Cataractes Concepts (By: Bastian S.)

The Cataractes wear pretty cool jerseys, and have a great colour scheme, great logo, and use the Sens former 3rd template well, but Bastian's concept of their former look looks great as well. The colour scheme is nice, and I like how all the colours are balanced well, unlike their current jerseys. Everything seems more conservative, which I like, it's a solid, easy and classic look. I'm not a huge fan of the logo, but if you like it, that's fine, I'd use the C logo on the yoke. (8/10)

Sarnia Sting Concept (By: Dylan W.)

Dylan A,'s Sarnia Sting alternate is a solid, modern jersey that needs to me made into their current home jersey, and this would be a cool alternate. I think the Sting could use a honeycomb...mmmmmmmm....honeycombs, yoke or striping. I like the striping, it looks like the Minnesota alternate/Iowa home striping on top and bottom. I think the logo could be a little smaller but that's nit picky again. I may have also added the honeycombs in the numbers. (8/10)

Wheel of Fortune Concept (By: Phil B.)

While I don't really watch game shows, I used to watch a lot of Wheel of Fortune when I was 10, and my smaller self would have loved this jersey. I like that the logo has all the colours of the wheel, but the jersey doesn't, and that keeps it from getting cluttered. The jersey itself is good, but I think the numbers, script and nob could use an outline, or maybe a better font. A white yoke outline could also help. (7/10)

2013 Heritage Classic Concepts (By: Stephen T.)

Stripes Stripes and more Stripes. I love the Vancouver jerseys, the vintage white is the right shade that it isn't tacky, and the maroon is bright enough  that it doesn't look dull. The Ottawa jersey looks alright, there are just a few too many stripes, and the side panels are very cookie cutter. I also think the logo could be a little smaller and  perhaps getting rid of the beige could make it less trendy. (7.5/10)

Soldier Field Game Concepts (By: Tyler G.)

As I said on Friday, this game will be huge in merchandising and viewers. The Blackhawks jersey is great, and I love the sheer amount of stripes on it, especially the yoke. The Pens jersey, I surprisingly like, I think that script looks good enough for a jersey, but I think the Robo pen could be used as a logo, maybe the P? (8.5/10)

Dodger Stadium Game Concepts (By: Me/Jets96)

Both Anaheim and Los Angeles wore HORRIBLE third jerseys in the 1995/96 season, and I decided to use those to make a unique game. The Mighty Ducks jersey is based off of the Wild Wing jersey, just much more conservative, but I kept the yoke and logos. The  Kings jersey is based on the old Manchester Monarchs jerseys, and the set goes well with the logo.

Omg I would absolutely love to see the Ducks wear Mighty Ducks throwbacks. Your concept using the wildwing but with the regular logo & the classic stripe pattern looks fantastic. I would totally buy that jersey. I like the kings as well. I'd give them a 9!

I really like Bastian's Armada jerseys. I don't even mind the lack of color. They're sharp. I'll give them a COTW nom.
