Thursday: A Variety of Concepts!

Hello all. Not much news going on NHL wise, although the Sabres are going to have a yellow/gold alternate jersey next year, so I'm pretty pumped about seeing that. Other then that, not much. HJC-wise, voting for Round 2 of the HJC Open has begun! So, make sure to vote!

-------------------------------------------------------------

Here are the daily voting reminders...

2nd Quarter Vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)
COTW July 8-14 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)
HJC Open Round 2 voting (ends Sunday @ 6pm Eastern)

-------------------------------------------------------------

Toronto Maple Leafs concept (By: Kyle N.)

Kyle starts us off with some new Leafs sweaters. Based off of their current alternate, I like the Coyote striping. The one thing I don't like here is the hem outline stripe under the actual hem striping. That basically becomes pointless with the blue pants and just looks out of place. I love the 60's logo being used and the plain maple leaf on the shoulders. Great job here. Execution is great, as well.

Columbus Blue Jackets (Nike) concept (By: Andy C.)

Andy brings us our first of three Nike concepts today with these new Jackets jerseys. I like the Ohio Flag-inspired striping. The new logo isn't bad either, but it could use something related to the team other then just an Ohio flag with the word Columbus. I like the alternate, but the touch of red I don't like. It almost looks pink to me with the white next to it. Overall, pretty good concept here.

Winnipeg Jets (Nike) concept (By: Stephen T.)

Our second of three Nike concepts today, Stephen brings us a new Winnipeg Jets concept. I'm really digging the new striping and the old logos. No complaints from me.

Kitchener Rangers OHL concept (By: Alan)

I'll let the description do the talking here. I really like the logo choices here, but I'm not sure about a Ranger-affiliated team wearing a recolored Penguins jersey.

Johnstown Tomahawks NAHL concept (By: Jake88)

Probably one of the only NAHL concepts of seen on HJC, Jake88 brings us the Tomahawks of Johnstown. I love the bruins yoke and the colors really fit with it. That logo is very cool, by the way. Execution is great. My one problem is a lack of blue on the white jersey. Maybe some more on the striping.

Vancouver Canucks concept (By: Tristan M.)

A concept unlike any I've seen before, Tristan has a cool Canucks concept for us. I like the new arm striping where the "V" goes all the way down the arm, I also like the addition of grey. That green alternate is also awesome. The sublimated "V" on the front is great. Awesome execution and an awesome concept here from Tristan.

Rating: 8.5/10 and a COTW nom from me

Dallas Stars "De-EDGE" concept (By: Steven G.)

Steven continues his "de-edgeification" of the NHL with the newly redesigned Stars. I like the new striping. It gives them their own style of striping instead of just using the Blackhawks striping. I like the yoke on the white jersey too. Great job, as always, from Steven.

Rating: 8.5/10

Orli Znojmo [Austrian Hockey League] concept (By: Jake88)

Orli Znojmo is a Czech hockey team playing in the Austrian Hockey League and currently have Devils jerseys with tons of advertisements on them. These jerseys definitely give them more of an identity. To make it more realistic, I would put a couple of ads on there for good measure. I'm really not sure what else to say here but these are not bad.

Thanks for reading, have a good Friday everyone!

Let me second the COTW nomination on the Canucks jerseys. Those look AMAZING! I love the way the V has been colour contrasted into the sleeves. Well done!

@Tyler G. You pointed out the sublimated 'V' on the alternate, it's also on the white. If you didn't know. Not sure if you did or not. But those are beauties. It's a perfect blend between a modern uniform that isn't out there, but still has some 'throwback' feel to it.

@Brandon Nowak The sublimated 'V' is also on the blue jersey. I guess its kinda hard to see, but if you zoom in enough, its there. Here it is up close bit.ly/113az71
