December 27: The Neglected Holiday Child
Good day, eh! And welcome to December 27. The neglected 4th child of the Christmas calendar. The 27th is typically reserved for cleaning up the pile of boxes and garbage that your wonderful gifts have left behind. Or perhaps you're making the effort to go to your 3rd or 4th Christmas dinner today, but you really don't want to.
The winner of the COTW for December 14-20 was CPM! This was CPM's 2nd straight COTW win, and his 3rd is 4 weeks. He's on a roll!
The new COTW nominees have been listed on the side of the page in the black banner. Click that banner or go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab to see the actual concepts. Voting ends on Friday!
All week the writers were asking readers to send in pictures of any jerseys the may have received as gifts this holiday season. Here's what came in.
Mario A.
Nice retro Pens jersey. Goes with the hair!
Taylor R.
Taylor sent this in and noted that there is no player on it. How do you guys feel, does every replica jersey need a number?
Matt M - LA
I'm actually a fan of this jersey. The giant TV numbers and white pants are a major drawback though.
Matt M. - VAN
There are so many retro Canucks options to choose from. Matt got his own name on the jersey as well. I'm interested to hear what the readers think about getting your own name on a pro team's jersey.
Kris K.
Kris loves this jersey, and that's what matters. Can anyone spot all of the clues?
Starting tomorrow, it's the final week of the 2014 Concept of the Week calendar. If you don't see your concept posted by Friday then it will be vying for the 2015 Concept of the Year.

Mine Hitmen jersey didn`t get posted :(
Because you sent it in at 2:15am this morning. Post was already written.

Personally, I've always preferred player's on jerseys whether or not it is a replica or not. It just seems to bare. Idk.
It's also my team.
I have my name on an Isles jersey because it was a Chris Simon jersey. Personally I'm ok with it, because with my luck, as soon as I get a player's jersey, they end up leaving the team or doing something stupid (in the cases of Simon and Alex Rodriguez).
This Christmas I got an old Colorado Avalanche away jersey (burgundy) and a Detroit Winter Classic. I also purchased the first Sabres white jersey with my own money right before christmas. With the christmas money and gift cards that were given as gifts I used those to help pay for a Pittsburgh Penguins 3rd jersey.
Last year at this time I had 1 jersey in my 'collection'. Now I'm at 8 and I love it.
Is Matt modelling the Kings jersey?
Nice jerseys from everyone. And Ryan, i agree. the jersey does go with my mullet. it's also my favorite hockey jersey ever made.
Here the jersey I got for Christmas from my brother - he works at Bombardier Aerospace in Toronto.
Only front shown - back is just a heat pressed white #14.

Yeah Ryan if you're talking about how my jersey is a fake I'm aware, but it was a gift, and my mom doesn't know how to tell the difference. I'm still against fakes, but I didn't want to upset her.
Cool jerseys. I didn't get any jerseys, but I got vintage t-shirts for the Colorado Rockies, Hartford Whalers, Quebec Nordiques, and Kansas City Scouts. And that Pens jersey I already have and it's one of my favourites even though I'm a Canucks fan.
