Saturday: Six Candles
Tomorrow is HJC's birthday! We're turning six. William will have you covered with everything you need to celebrate properly. I do want to take this time to thank absolutely everyone who has ever stopped by and read HJC. Whether you love it or you hate it, thanks. As well, a big thanks and congrats to anyone who has had the courage to create a concept and send it in for everyone to see. Sometimes it takes a lot of courage to put yourself or your ideas out there to be judged. However, we all try to make HJC a constructive and safe place that encourages people to be creative and put their work out there.
Tomorrow will also mark the end of the entry phase for the Grand Rapids Griffins Jersey Design Competition. The team hopes to choose a winner by November 30, good luck to everyone. Thanks to the Griffins for allowing HJC to help out with the competition. We love doing it and we hope we're invited back again next year.
The winner of the COTW vote for November 8-14 was Ryan C!
This week we had someone who dominated the COTW noms actually win the vote! Ryan's Dallas concept narrowly beat out Brooks' Wheat Kings concept. Congrats to Ryan on his 4th COTW win of the year! For those of you who are still working towards a COTW, take a look at Ryan's concepts. His clean presentation helps them look their best and he pays attention to detail. The colours are all consistent, pixels aren't out of place, and numbers and shoulder patches are set where they should be. He's put thought into where they are and hasn't just thrown them on there. This Dallas concept isn't ground breaking, but it is showcased well and it's a good idea that readers got behind.
The new COTW nominees for November 15-21 have been listed on the side of the page in the black banner. Those of you with a Google account can place a vote up until Friday at 11:59pm Eastern. Good luck to all six nominees!
These past two weeks some of the writers have been issuing little challenges to try and spark your creativity. It seems to be working quite well as the number of concepts submitted has increased and continues to go up. Whether you take on their challenges or their challenges lead you into a new project, they've accomplished what is intended. They've gotten you guys to create! Good job by everyone.
My challenge today is the Atlanta Thrashers 2015. What would the Atlanta Thrashers look like if they were still around in this retro inspired, roundel logo NHL jersey world that we live in? Give it a shot! Or perhaps they would have stayed the course with their Reebok inspired, non matching designs. Show us what you think.

Thanks for the kind words Ryan! I would like to add that when I first started submitting here my concepts werent great but through all of the criticism here it really REALLY helped me improve... Thanks everyone who helped me over the last year
The Atlanta thing should be the next contest!!!
The abbreviation for my COTW nom says MOUNT instead of NYI.
A Thrashers redesign contest would be fun!
