Tuesday: Title TBA
Hi everybody! Steve M here with your Tuesday dose of HJC. So the big story around town is about the Adidas World Cup of Hockey jerseys and how "Tame" most of the designs are compared to the Olympic designs. I would have to agree with Caz on how he wrote that they designs aren't bad, they just don't give you that rush of emotion that certain other jerseys would. I can understand this. Adidas has been pushing out some cool designs on their soccer (or futbol if you prefer) jerseys. But instead of trying to blend in the uniqueness that they bring to all of their soccer jerseys, they played it safe because they're probably saving that for 2017 when they take over for the NHL. This past september there was a rumor that Adidas would make form-fitting jerseys for the NHL if requested so this could just be the introduction to what could be a whole new market area for Adidas to take over as Adidas and not their associate company Reebok.
I'm also sure that some of you saw over at Sportslogos.net that a fellow concept creator designed a template off of the pictures of the Adidas World Cup of Hockey jerseys. To give him Credit, Matthew McElroy, AKA Number 9 concepts, Created this and posted it on his blog. I only ask that you make a version with a back as well but good job on the template!
So we have both the Pairs Competition and the Sabres 3rd jersey Competition going on so we've got a busy next few weeks ahead of us. Also, vote for COTW, COTW-February, and your favorite Heritage classic Jersey of all time.
No new Sabres entries so let's get to the concepts!
Negatives: The stripe on the pants are too plain compared to the jersey.
Overall: 8.5/10
Negatives: Combining the "Buffaslug" with the Crossed Sabres just doesn't work well together. Also, Your alternate crest logo looks a little too big.
Overall: 7.5/10
Negatives: The Sleeve Numbers are a little too small. Also, the single sleeve stripe looks a little too plain for the sleeves. maybe if you added a colored cuff or an accent stripe like you did with the yoke.
Overall: 7/10
Negatives: I don't really have anything negative to say about this.
Overall: 8.5/10
Negatives: While I like the orange numbers, I'm not sure how well they would actually read. Switch it to blue and you'll be good.
Overall: 7.5/10
Negatives: The stripping width with the detailing is just too much for this.
Overall: 7/10
I can't pick one this week because they're all good, so I'm going to let you guys pick.
That's all I have for you this Tuesday. Don't for get to VOTE! VOTE! VOTE! and get a buddy for the pairs competition. Have a good rest of the week!

COTW-February vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)
COTW Feb 29 - Mar 5 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern)
Buffalo 3rd Jersey entries (due Friday @ 10:59pm Eastern)
No new Sabres entries so let's get to the concepts!
Brooks Freeman- Toronto Maple Leafs
Positives: The cuff-to-cuff yoke design works really well with this. Giving it a break with a single stripe, almost signifying an arm stripe. I also like that you choose to add a little accent stripe to the edge of the yoke and the hem.Negatives: The stripe on the pants are too plain compared to the jersey.
Overall: 8.5/10
Jay Schreyer- Buffalo Sabres
Positives: Overall this is a very nice set of jerseys. Sticking with a traditional jersey was a good idea. I particularly liked how you used a yellow yoke for the navy jersey.Negatives: Combining the "Buffaslug" with the Crossed Sabres just doesn't work well together. Also, Your alternate crest logo looks a little too big.
Overall: 7.5/10
J.J. Anderes- Detroit Red Wings
Positives: Playing off the latest Stadium Series design, I like the added yoke on the jerseys. Also, the black alternate is awesome looking. Negatives: The Sleeve Numbers are a little too small. Also, the single sleeve stripe looks a little too plain for the sleeves. maybe if you added a colored cuff or an accent stripe like you did with the yoke.
Overall: 7/10
Taylor Roy-Michigan Wolverines
Positives: I like how you took the three stripe design that Michigan currently uses on their jerseys and stretch them out along the sleeves like they did with their "Hockey City Classic" outdoor game jersey back in 2015.Negatives: I don't really have anything negative to say about this.
Overall: 8.5/10
Paul Neumann- Edmonton Flyers
Positives: Now I will only judge the white jersey because you already posted the orange jersey. I like the orange yoke with the jersey.Negatives: While I like the orange numbers, I'm not sure how well they would actually read. Switch it to blue and you'll be good.
Overall: 7.5/10
Lucas Daitchman- Arizona Coyotes
Positives: Lucas definitely pushes the unique factor with his design by going all native on the hem and yoke.Negatives: The stripping width with the detailing is just too much for this.
Overall: 7/10

Brooks F for COTW. This would have been great for the St. John's Maple Leafs to wear say 1996
