Thursday: Chase-ing It

I'm in the same boat as Chase here. Adjusting to college is a bit of a learning curve to say the least. Take that paired with the fact that there's no news to report on, I'm just going to get right to the concepts as well.

But first, let's take a moment to talk about voting. There's only one vote this week, the COTW vote, quick and easy. The Walleyes comp is also nearing its end, as any entries are due by noon EST tomorrow, so put your finishing touches on and send your designs in!

COTW Aug 18-24 vote (ends Friday @ noon ET)
Toledo Walleye entries (due Friday @ noon ET)

---------------------

Anthony C. - Chicago Blackhawks
+A good blend of historically inspired with new ideas on this concept.
+I like the use of red as the base color.
+Solid striping pattern.
-The TV numbers look borderline too small.
-I think it would have been cool to bring back this pants design, except with pure white instead of vintage white.
Overall: 8/10

Danny R. - NHL100 Classic
+A very vintage looking set of jerseys here, a perfect fit for this game.
+As "unoriginal" as it is...it would pretty much be blasphemy to want the Habs to use anything different. Good job making it different enough from the current and vintage looking enough.
+I really like your idea behind the Sens design, and I think a variation could work...but...
-I don't think we want something like this again...albeit yours would be a lot better since there aren't nearly as many stripes.
-It also brings up the issue that the two jerseys might not contrast well enough in a game. Making the Habs white might do the trick, but the large amounts of red on the Sens jersey may not mesh well here.
+Good choice leaving the Sens' pants blank...the rest of the uniform is already busy enough.
Overall: 8.5/10

Dylan C. - San Antonio Rampage
+I'm not a big fan of jerseys that have little or no color, but despite that I think this is a nice look.
+The striping looks solid, and somehow the shades manage to barely clash, if at all.
-The logo looks a bit awkward in my opinion. Drop the "San Antonio" at least. Or even better, use this one.
-Not sure why you made the sock stripes so small. Just match them to the jersey stripes.
-The TV numbers on the front view look like their too far towards the front, I'd push them back a bit.
Overall: 8/10

Joe D. - Arizona Coyotes
+I would love to see the kachina pattern return, and though this isn't exactly the most creative design, it works.
+I'm glad you picked either white or sand, instead of using both.
-Personally, I think sand would have worked better, though.
-The plain numbers are, well, plain. Adding an outline would spice things up.
-If you ask me, the thin white stripe below the kachina pattern is a tad unnecessary and just clutters up the design.
+Good treatment of the collar.
Overall: 8/10

T.C. Moore - New York Rangers
+I'm going to go ahead and assume this is either a fauxback alternate, or a Winter Classic design. It works for either one.
+Using their short-lived arched script design works well for this, as does using their classic striping pattern.
-This isn't really a bad thing, but I'd be interested in seeing what the logo looks like on the front of the jersey.
-I would thicken the outline on "Rangers" a bit. The colors are vibrating a bit.
-The hem stripe goes up a bit too high on the jersey.
-The back and TV numbers look a tad small.
-I'm not sure if canvas colored gloves would mesh well with red pants.
Overall: 8/10

And that's all for today. I hope you enjoyed the post, thanks for reading, and I'll see you all again next week!
