Monday: Trade Deadline Double Double
Welcome to the Monday post!
I'm currently on a bit of a trade related high as the Jets ACTUALLY MADE A TRADE. The last time they did that in an effort to make the playoffs was in 2014 when they acquired Alexei Ponikarovsky (Go Leafs) and journeyman/not Alex Steen forward Lee Stempniak. There was also the Andrew Ladd trade that we somehow won, and the Kane/Bogosian trade Sabres fans hopefully aren't too upset about. Obviously they had to give up some assets, namely a first round pick I'd consider to be relatively meaningless, a prospect who in all likelihood was not going to crack the deep Jets roster, and a conditional pick. I hope that Paul Statsny and Joe Morrow find Winnipeg a nice place to play
Other big deals of the day included the Jackets acquiring Ian Cole and Tomas Vanek for two bags of pucks, the Rangers losing two major players to the Lightning but overall doing pretty well to stock up for their rebuild (Think TC should be happy with the Nash deal, not sure about the Miller/McDonough trade), Detroit gets some picks but doesn't move Green, New Jersey getting another veteran forward, Philly signing a depth Dman in Oduya and the Sharks getting disgruntled Kane for GM Jack's other line mate and should hopefully calm down upon getting playoff experience.
Because I have been keeping track, here is a to my knowledge complete list of all waiver signings and trades as of writing this post
Do you like what your team did today? Tell me in the comments!
Voting for this week we have the usual COTW vote along with the 4th week of The Season, second to last before the playoffs in two week!
Remember to check out our Jersey Casual store and the HJC Sticker Sale, just because valentines day is up doesn't mean you shouldn't get your SO or non-SO something they can say is neat.
Also remember if you want us to answer your question on the Podcast (which you should all be listening to) submit it through the mailbag mailbag mailbag forum on the side of the blog under the voting poles! We're not out of questions but the more we have the better
The same can be said for concepts! We need more concepts! Please send in your concepts !
On with today's 4 concepts !

The Season Week 4 vote (ends Friday @ noon ET)
On with today's 4 concepts !

Tim Hortons (Cafe and Bake Shop) Concepts (By: Adam G.)
+ The home and road do a nice job of blending the Tim's modern colour scheme without falling into the Thrashers trap of too many colours
+ Striping is simple but it does remind me of what a Tim's actually looks like
+ Alternate is a blast from the past I barely remember (I was maybe 8 when they switched their logo) but it does a good job emulating Tims
+ Good execution
- There is some white on beige going on on the home, which does make a nice gradient pattern in a way but the way the away looks is 10X better
- The alternate is pretty solid from the arms to the logo, but I would have stopped that striping pattern in the same reverse chevron pattern on top of the logo and added a hem stripe
- No helmet logos
- Remember HJC logo policy, these are commonly well known logos (in Canada and parts of US at least) but as a golden rule, if it's not found on sportslogos.net, just credit it!
Rating: 6.5/10
Spruce Grove Saints AJHL Concepts (By: Danny R.)
+ If LA decided to use a chest stripe, this how that jersey would look, I really like the striping here with that 1972-73 Minnesota Fighting Saints logo
+ VAST improvement over the current Saints logo and jerseys that looks more like a shoulder patch for a team from 1998 got crazy and had a baby with the 2005 Saskatoon Blades alternate
+ Great colour scheme update
+ Great execution
-Maybe would like to see that stylized 4 done with all the numbers, but it works
Rating: 9.5/10 COTW Nom from me!
New Jersey Devils Concepts (By: Noah B.)
+ Again, another logo that works with a chest tripe
+ Not sure what the two black/white stripes are for, but I really like how it looks
Colour balancing is the best any Devils jersey has had since 1992, and overall adds something new to the Devils' look
+ Great execution and lay out
- I would like to see some green included here, it would really add to the jerseys, even just a small amount
- A black yoke would add to the red jersey's design
Rating: 9/10
Nashville Predators Concept (By: Joe D.)
+ A solid striping pattern that I would have expected to see checkerboards inside, but the tiger stripe looks just as good if not better (after all they are named after a type of extinct tiger or at least their head)
+ Beautiful colour balancing, no white on yellow
+ Great execution, you've really gotten to be a solid artist Joe!
- I have no idea why there is no NP patch on the left shoulder
- Probably wouldn't have included a tie down for a just less than 20 year old team
Rating: 9/10

Noah’s NJ for COTW.
Columbus also picked up Mark Letestu
@burkus- you're right, yesterday, if I wrote yesterday I'd include him and Nash and Plekanec, none the less good deadline for CLM aside from keeping Johnson
