Sunday: It's an Unoffical American Holiday
Good Afternoon All. I'm hoping that some of you have made time to read my post today due to it being the biggest unofficial American holiday that is Super Bowl Sunday. That doesn't matter because we've got some awesome concepts today to show off!
Before we get to that, I'd like to congratulate Jake M on winner COTY for 2017. That fight was as tight as game 6 of the 2017 Stanley Cup! Not only does he win a plaque, but he gets a custom, one print Jersey casual sticker and another secret gift of his Jersey Casual design that can't be bought!
Also, don't forget to vote for our COTW and the first week of the HJC Season Vote!
Ok let's get to it!
Negatives: The hem is a little low for me. Maybe an inch or two higher and it would look a bit better but it has that almost cut off feel you can get at times from the length differences on the front and back. Also, those numbers are just strange on this jersey and a set of plain block numbers would work better.
Overall: 7/10
Negatives: The main issue with using the Nike template is that Nike specifically designed it to be used one way: the numbers on the shoulders and the stripes to be cut on half of the jersey, other wise it just looks unusual. Another issue, particularly with the black, is that you have the yellow on white going on with the striping and logo.
Overall: 6/10
Negatives: One thing that I've always felt did not do justice for the Avs is demoting the Maroon to a secondary color and this is just another example. The color balance you have here makes it looks like the Jets' color scheme and, while the design helps with the Identity, the colors bring it down.
Overall: 7.75/10
Negatives: A few things where I think you could have improved here. While you did a good job of improving the navy on the white jersey, You could have pushed it more and given it the same role as the white stripe on the yellow jersey. Also, this could be my color deficiency working against me, but the navy looks a little purple to me but I won't hold that against you. Finally, that simple yellow stripe just seems to throw the whole design off when it comes to the socks and jerseys. Those are enough to warrant a plain blue pant design.
Overall: 8/10 COTW NOMINEE
Alright guys that's all I have. To all the American (and any Canadian Fans) of American football, enjoy today and please don't go insane over the outcome of the game. To the rest of us, have a good rest of the week and I'll see all of you next week!

Ben S- Dallas Stars
Positives: I get a throwback-esque vibe from this jersey and that's what I really like about it. it's simple but effective with the basic striping and I thing the set overall really flows together.Negatives: The hem is a little low for me. Maybe an inch or two higher and it would look a bit better but it has that almost cut off feel you can get at times from the length differences on the front and back. Also, those numbers are just strange on this jersey and a set of plain block numbers would work better.

Noak K- Centerville Elks
Positives: Being from Pittsburgh I'm a sucker for the black and yellow/gold color scheme and you did a pretty good job of balancing it out. The logo on the chest is very fitting and I like the customer helmet design.Negatives: The main issue with using the Nike template is that Nike specifically designed it to be used one way: the numbers on the shoulders and the stripes to be cut on half of the jersey, other wise it just looks unusual. Another issue, particularly with the black, is that you have the yellow on white going on with the striping and logo.

Phil B- Colorado Avalanche
Positives: I love all the pointed striping on this jersey because it really throws back to the original jersey design style while giving the new jersey a life of it's own. the sleeve ends that are to mimmick a mountain range top of the jersey with the angled yoke on the front.Negatives: One thing that I've always felt did not do justice for the Avs is demoting the Maroon to a secondary color and this is just another example. The color balance you have here makes it looks like the Jets' color scheme and, while the design helps with the Identity, the colors bring it down.

Phil B- Nashville Predators
Positives: As we all know, the one thing that brought down the Preds current redesign was the choice to amp up the use of yellow to the point of excess. I say that Phil did a pretty good job of correcting that with this design by adding a blue yoke the the yellow design with a more prominent role on the yellow jersey as well. Gone are the blue ends to have a more unique striping design that would bring more attention to the jersey on the ice than what they have now with that yellow jersey and the thicker navy stripe on the white jersey looks great.Negatives: A few things where I think you could have improved here. While you did a good job of improving the navy on the white jersey, You could have pushed it more and given it the same role as the white stripe on the yellow jersey.
