Wednesday: Sunday Writer Beck At It!

Hi everybody. Steve, your Sunday writer, here covering for Phil today and yes, that's the only pun of the post I promise. We've got a good bunch of  good concepts here today so let's hop right in.

Adam G- New York Islanders

Positives: This is something that we've seen here before on HJC but this one works quite well with the prominence of blue and the thin orange stripes, particularly on the hem. If anything, this could work as a Outdoor set for the Isles if they ever get another outdoor game.
Negatives: It is, in general, a copy of the black jersey with a color swap and hem change (and updated template) so it's not really something that I could say is creative enough to be counted as a original design.
Overall: 6.5/10

Danny R- Lloydminster Bobcats 

Positives: The jerseys currently used by the Bobcats are pretty boring and I think you do a really good job of improving there look by using the Blackhawks 2016 SS template. The colors are well balanced and the roundel logo is a perfect fit.
Negatives: One of the negatives I've always had with this is the fact that you either have to have the numbers at the elbows or on the shoulders and, for a logo like that, having a much more modern style with the numbers isn't the best of ideas. Also, please get rid of the white pentagon on the white jersey.
Overall: 7.75/10

John E- Wheeling Nailers 

Positives: While the nailers have a great logo and have been known to have some excellent designs, this does a really good job of bringing the team over to there parent club's look. The black and yellow only striping gives the jersey a throwback feel and your color balance on both jerseys works perfectly.
Negatives: My main issue is the logo. The nailers have a great logo but, with the mask, having white on it just throws it off. A good example would be there Wheeling thunderbird alternates from last season that had the mask with white on it. It just stood out there compared to black and gold. Also, the yellow jersey wouldn't hurt from a little bit more white.
Overall: 8.75/10 COTW NOMINEE!

Noah K- Madison Scouts 

Positives: This DCI entry actually has a lot of potential. The Scouts logo is a perfect fit for a hockey jersey and the chest stripe pattern on the green jersey just looks awesome. As for the white jersey, I think you did a good job on that as well.
Negatives: My main issue is with the chest striping being off-centered on the back numbers and the TV numbers being really big. Also, it's not to you, but with a color scheme like this it can be hard for someone with a Color Deficiency like me to tell the difference in the green and red due to the hues being so close in tint together.
Overall: 8/10
