If you missed it over the weekend the COTW vote went to a playoff where Eric W.'s Team Canada concept crushed mine to be named COTW! Also this weekend, the HJC Open Final was set. It's Brad vs Stephane in the Final! Concepts will be coming in early this week from the both of them. I look forward to seeing how this shakes out.
Last week had a lot of COTW nominations, but only one of them was seconded. So, I had to make some choices on my own from the concepts that had been nominated. Those nominees are now up and can be seen on the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK page. Committee members have until Thursday @ 11:59pm EST to vote.

As you can see it's was pretty even between AHL ReDesign and Create Your Own Team. So what am I going to do? I'm going to combine the two contests to create a Create Your Own AHL Team Contest!

I like the home jersey because it looks like the old 3rd. I also like the alternate jersey because I think the variations make it look good as well. The home I think suffers from a lack of blue. It sort of looks like an AHL pre-season jersey.

Obviously, the retro jersey looks great in the Edge cut. The home and road concepts I am indifferent towards. They aren't bad they just aren't for me.

Daivd has created a fauxback logo for the Rangers which gives a nod to the old New York Americans (I've covered my feelings on that previously). Despite that, it's a nicely done logo with a definite retro look. The jersey is quite solid also.

Arthur brings back the old star pattern that Reebok says they can't do. He then places the "DALLAS" script on the road white.

However, if Arthur could have his way he would put the Stars in these. I am completely on board with his ideas for the home greens and road whites, but I do not agree on the black thirds. Those thirds are like having meatloaf for dinner every Tuesday night. Eventually, it gets really boring.

Here's another way for the Stars to go. Full on North Stars!!! It looks great, but my personal opinion is that the North Stars just seem to belong to the people of Minnesota. Kind of the way that the Jets belong to the people of Winnipeg. That's not the way it is, but that's the way I feel.

If Michael had advanced in the HJC Open, this was his 2nd round entry. However it suits this post nicely. Michael removes the gold and goes with just green and white. I'm strangely in favour of this! If the Stars want to simplify and lean toward a football themed look, I'm good with this. I like this so much that I'm giving it a COTW nomination!

Ryan, I completely agree with you on how the North Stars look belongs to Minnesota and the Winnipeg look belongs to Winnipeg. I personally think the Stars shouldn't go with Green as their primary color though. I actually think they should sport different colors all together. Just my opinion.

Well since the Stars are in Dallas and don't, you're wrong... Just saying
A few things to say:
1) the Rangers have an 86 year history of jerseys. why wear a fauxback for the Winter Classic?
2) I want to enter the create a team contest but I can't make a logo at all. What should I do?
3) I don't believe Reebok one bit about a jersey design not being technologically possible", a la 67's barberpole, Stars, etc. that is the stupidest thing I ever heard

sorry arthur I was trying to say maybe the stars could try an over haul and possibly drop green and add blue
couple things:
1)Michael N.'s Stars concept is being seconded
2)Can I affiliate my team with the fictional Las Vegas Vipers (with credit due)? When my concept comes in, you will understand why I asked, that is if you allow it.
Kris: You can use a logo from anywhere on the internet. Just give proper credit.
Ricky: I'm going to say no. Only because that wasn't in the rules to begin with.
