Thursday: Black and Blue
It's the 4th of October, welcome to the Thursday post. As you can probably deduct from the title, we've got a lot of black and blue. We have some more NFL concepts from Randall, Kyle brings us more of his designs and the Dallas Stars get a make over.
Remember folks, we've got the Hartford Whalers redesign. Click the link at the top of the page to check out the competition details. Entries are closed by Saturday, so get yo' stuff in.
Tennessee Titans concept (by Randall A.)
Here Randall tries to transform the Titan's to fit into a hockey identity, and honestly it doesn't work out well. The logo is fairly off-balanced for a hockey jersey. I would throw some white on the shoulder/arms to coincide with the bottom hems. Overall, I don't think this works very well. (6/10)
Dallas Stars concept (by Matthew D.)
Matthew redesigns the Stars, without the Stars script. The logo is stylized with a bevel (reminiscent of the Texas Stars, Dallas' AHL affiliate) and the jersey is treated with the same color scheme of the old third Mooterus jerseys. I'd prefer some black for the white jersey, but overall this is pretty solid. (7/10)
Winnipeg Jets concept (by WinnipegJets96)
Jets96 eliminates red from the Jets' whole look and goes for the whole "double blue" look which I'm a fan of when it comes to the Jets. With the double-blue look, the shoulders that pay homage to their military background. The big things that turn me off about this are the pittstains, the lack of bottom hem stripes and the vertical sock stripes. Vertical sock stripes are a big no-no. (6/10)
Tampa Bay Lightning concept (by Kyle C.)
Kyle brings back the black for the Lightning. The logo looks a bit odd. It looks like the colors were inverted, but looks odd in the trippy, "Black Ice" kind of way. There's not much to be said about this one other than the fact that I'm pretty damn happy these have victory-stripes. (7/10)
St. Louis Blues concept (by Kyle C.)
Navy is eliminated and Kyle goes with a regular blue tone to further simply this look. He goes with the Blue's current third jersey logo (which is never a bad idea). As a result, this Blues jersey is fairly complete. I wouldn't mind seeing these hit the ice. (7/10)
St. Louis Blues concept (by Tyler G.)
I think many of you will agree that St. Louis' jerseys are nothing compared to the look they had before the Reebok EDGE transformation and Tyler tries to recapture that magic with these sexy threads. I feel these are more balanced than their 2000s look, and improves upon these fairly well. (8/10)

Anaheim Ducks concept (by Tyler G.)
Trying to improve on the current Anaheim Ducks' third jerseys, Tyler updates this jersey with traditional arm stripes. Keeping with the color scheme and everything else, I'd say this is an improvement. Orange is still a prominent color (which Anaheim should use more) and although there striping alignment is somewhat busy, the jersey is still pretty good. (8/10)Whalers Redesign Entry (by Darren H.)

New York Jets concept (by Randall A.)
This is one of the better NFL concepts, I think. It's simple and effective. The Jets never have had a flashy design in their history, and with their storied franchise they have the right to have a reserved, traditional uniform and that is translated here. If the bottom had a solid green hem that is like the arms, I would think this would be perfect. (8/10)Dallas Stars concept (by Matthew D.)
