Thursday: Stars, Avalanche, and more!

Hey everybody, welcome to today's HJC post on this (hopefully) lovely Thursday. The Blackhawks have been the best team in the NHL so far. The Blackhawks tied an NHL record for collecting points in consecutive games to start a season: 16, equal to the 2006-07 Anaheim Ducks, who opened 12-0-4. They have a chance to break the record tomorrow night, at home against the Sharks. I just thought that was cool and hope my Hawks can bring us home a Cup. Anyway, let's get started.

Dallas Stars concept (By: Bastian)

• Bastian uses those concept logos by Torch Creative and creates a new GREEN look for the Stars. By the way, I'm not a big fan of those logos. I see them as a lateral move from what they have right now.
• I love the striping, and all the numbers and names look great.
• Maybe the away jersey could use some more green, but it's not that much of a problem.
• Also, I don't like the collar on the home jersey, I wish it had more white and less black. Also, on the collars the inside color of the collar should be what shows on the inside view of the collar... for instance, on the road jersey, the inside of the collar should be green, and it would be black on the home jersey.
• I would take these over what they currently wear in a heartbeat.

Springfield Isotopes concept (By: JCR Graphix)

• I didn't know this, but... the Springfield Isotopes are apparently a minor league baseball team from the show, The Simpsons. See info about it here.
• I love the logos and the jerseys are awesome. The font along with the colored namebar even looks cool.
• The "TOPES" alt is awesome as well.
• Great job here JCR, another one of those really cool concepts that are made from something from a show or movie.

Colorado Avalanche concept (By: Jets96)

• Here is a very simple solution to the Avalanche's jersey problems from Jets96.
• I like the choices of the logos and the font. Also, bringing back the "mountain" hem is also a great idea I wouldn't be surprised to see happen.
• I also like the removal of black, but I think it should stay on the puck in the logo. The "sleeve" striping is okay, not bad, not great. I don't like the sock striping though, something more like the hem stripes would be nice. Like on the home jersey it would be one thin white stripe with blue all under it.
• Overall, a good concept.

Dallas Stars concept (By: Jack H.)

• Jack creates a new look for the Stars. I like the changes that are made here. The font looks good. All the striping and logos look good. I love all of these sweaters.
• The alternate is pretty cool as well. I like how the arm striping comes to a point like a star.
• Great concept here by Jack.

Cincinnati Stingers WHA concept (By: Bastian)

• Bastian creates some concepts for the classic WHA team, the Cincinnati Stingers.
• I love these jerseys. The striping all looks so smooth and good. Even the numbers on the yokes work here. That "curved" font is awesome too.
• These would be awesome if the Stingers were too come back somewhere. Great job here by Bastian.

St. Louis Blues concept (By: JCR Graphix)

• Here are some cool Blues concept by JCR.
• I like all the striping, but I'm not a big fan of the mostly-white logos and name on the home jersey. I think it should be mostly yellow, like it is currently. The away all looks good though.
• The name-over-logo works here. I like it.
• Cool concept and great execution as always, from JCR.

Team Finland concept (By: Stephen T.)

• We haven't seen many International concepts since the IIHF Juniors, but I'm guessing they will start up again for the 2014 Olympics. Here is a sweet Finland concept from Stephen.
• I actually like the vertical striping on the arms. I like all the other things as well, like the pants and the socks even look cool.
• My only problem here is the font, more specifically the number font. I recommend more of a normal hockey font, but the rest of it looks great.

Colorado Avalanche concept (By: Jack H.)

• Here is Jack's take on what the Avalanche should do.
• Jack removes black from the jerseys as Jets96 did, but I like that he kept it on the logo.
• I like the striping on the jerseys, and once again, props for bringing back the "mountain" hem.
• That's also a very cool alternate. Very similar to their current third, but not completely.
• Some overall great sweaters here from Jack.

Dallas Stars concept (By: Jets96)

• Here is Jets96's view on what the Stars should do with their new uniforms coming out next year.
• To be honest, I don't like the black. The Stars need to go with more green. But, if the Stars just HAD to have black as the main color, I would like these.
• The striping looks good, the logos look good, and so does the font.
• The Stars could do better I think, but I would take these over what they wear now, for sure.

Tampa Bay Lightning concept (By: JCR Graphix)

• Here are some very cool Bolts concepts from JCR.
• I like the arm striping, but I'm not too sure about the vertical piping coming down and cutting off the stripes on the hem.
• The logos all look good as well as the font used here.
• I like the black and white alternate with the current primary logo. Could be a "Bolts Blackout".
• Great job here, JCR.
