That was the final COTW vote for May. As you know, we now move onto the monthly vote for May, always inching closer to our Concept of the Year. Click the red banner on the side of the page to see May's entrants or go to the COTY 2015 tab.

We're going to try something with this vote. Results from the HJC Survey have suggested that most readers find it difficult to email in their votes. So I've placed a poll on the side of the page as a test. There's only a poll for the monthly vote, COTW voting will continue by email for now. If this type of voting goes well we will continue to use it for COTW and COTY. If it gets compromised or trolled in anyway, I'll abandon it and look for another polling option. Voting ends on Friday at 11:59pm Eastern time.

There are new COTW nominees also listed on the side of the page, in the black banner. Click that banner to see the concepts nominated or go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab. We will continue with email voting for this vote, so get your vote emailed in before Friday at 11:59pm Eastern.

HJC Open logo entries will continue to be posted tomorrow. Note the unusual deadline of TUESDAY at noon Eastern time.

I'm still deciding on what to do with all of the answers from the HJC Survey. I can tell you about three changes that we are going to try and make happen on the blog. First, I want to try and do more podcasts. I'm not going to set a specific number, but I would like them to become more frequent.

Next, a lot of people stated that they didn't like the fact that you have to email your vote in. So I'm looking at some different options for voting. I personally don't understand this sentiment because you email in concepts, why not votes too? Either way, you have spoken and changes need to be made.

Lastly, a lot of responses indicated that the blog looks dated and unprofessional. I agree! I am limited with my artistic talents and tools, but I will still make a significant effort to change the look of the blog. Not necessarily the logo ( I believe in building a brand) but the look and functionality of the website will change.

These changes will take time. Like many of you, I have a full-time job that has nothing to do with designing, or hockey, or blogging. When I’m not at work I have two kids and a wife and I love them more than life. After all of that time has been distributed the few remaining hours are divided up between sleep and HJC. And that is exactly why somethings don’t always happen on schedule at HJC.

Enjoy Game 2! The Lightning need to win to have a chance. For the sake of an interesting series I would like to see them win, but how do you ever bet against the Hawks?
