Friday = a COTW Winner!
The winner of the May 7-13 COTW vote is Keens. Keens won with an Ottawa Senators concept set. The vote wasn't even close. It was one of the biggest COTW blowouts ever.
The only vote still ongoing here at HJC is the Video Game Comp vote.
Scott M., who is a Connecticut Whale fan, has sent in the updated numbers for the team. They got rid of their blue road jersey and Edge-ified their green jersey for road game use.
This, along with MANY other teams numbers, can be seen and downloaded from the links at the bottom of the TEMPLATES page.
Ottawa Senators concept (by Doyle)
I like the general idea of this jersey. Taking the idea even further could make for good home and road sweaters. There are quite a few execution errors that need to be cleaned up. Click the TUTORIALS link on the side of the page for some tips. 4/10
Washington Capitals concept (by Deferoiler)
I like the angled arm stripe on this one, but not of them are consistent. They all have a different thickness from arm to arm. I also think that the capitol building should be bigger in the logo. Shoulder patches on the back of the jersey need to be rotated 180 degrees. 5/10
Pittsburgh Penguins concepts (by Stephen T.)
Stephen has Edge-ified the mid-90's 3rd jersey. He's also a white counterpart. These are very nicely executed, but I personally would like to see more gold on that white jersey. 7/10
Cairo Cats concepts (by Chuckie)
I like the colour choices for this fictional team. Seeing as there is so much black in the primary logo, perhaps a small amount of black trim on the jersey would help really tie everything together? Also, to tie the two logos together into one brand, using the, as shoulder patches would be a good idea. 7/10
Hamilton Tigers concept (by HJC)
What I was trying to do here was Edge-ify a fictional jersey that I thought the team may have ended up wearing sometime in the 1930's. I tried to resist the temptation of automatically throwing collar laces on a retro jersey. I also tried to use jersey stripes that were a little wacky, kind of like stripes on jerseys from early in the century.
New Jersey Devils concepts (by Rylen)
I like the stripes on these jerseys. They sort of look based on the green and red jerseys, but they also look new and unique. I personally think that the black sleeves are too much, but they don't ruin the concepts. The biggest concern would be that your TV numbers need to be in the same spot on both the front and back views. 7/10
Winnipeg Jets concept (by NB14)
Execution is nearly perfect. The only hold-up is the loose pixels near the bottom, just below the front hem. The jersey is simple and classic. The question would be, how many fans like the wordmark enough to accept it as a primary logo on the jersey? 7/10
Winnipeg Jets concepts (by Jesper)
The home and road concepts are decent, but I don't like the lack of red. They would be better if the current shoulder patch was used and that could be the red I'm looking for. I love the alternate! If the Jets used that as an alternate with their current jerseys that would be awesome! Execution here looks really good. 8/10
Winnipeg Jets concepts (by Thomas L.)
These are really excellent and the execution looks perfect! I know someone will nominate these. 9/10
Timrå IK Elitserien concepts (by Niklas)
You can see Timrå's current red and white jerseys here. These are definite upgrades! From the looks of the current sweaters, Timrå IK tries to have a classic look. These fit that bill. 8/10
Colorado Avalanche concepts (by Mazzz)
The darker blue that Mazzz has used here is perfect, in my opinion! I like the 3rd jersey based stripes and the arrangement of the jerseys. I personally would switch the logos, but this setup is fine too. That blue 3rd jersey is my fav of the 3. If it were real, I'd put it on my jersey wishlist. COTW nom from me! 9/10
Original Six concepts (by Bobby P.)
These would be great for when the Original Six teams play each other on a Saturday! The only team that I don't care for here is the Hawks. Those look more like Sens sweaters than Hawks sweaters. The Habs' white sweater is a nice mash-up. I also really like that the jerseys don't have NOB's on them! 9/10
Keens - 7
Steven G. - 1
Brady - 0
