I want to thanks everyone who entered the Florida Panthers 3rd Jersey Competition. There were 46 entries in total! The voting can now begin for this contest. You can click the banner at the top of the page or you can go to the FLA COMP tab to find the link which will lead you to all of the entries. Voting points have been adjusted for this comp placing a bigger emphasis on 1st place votes.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Beginning today, I will no longer be responding to every email that I get. Typically, emails with questions and other issues that require a response will get one. General concept and contest entries will not. If you are thinking that I missed posting your concept, first check every post going at least two weeks back. Then wait another two weeks and if it still hasn't shown up then email me. In two and a half years of posting on HJC I have only every missed a concept three times.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Kevin W. keeps pumping out the templates. He made this, which is a template for Bauer/Nike pants. He was wondering if anyone had any ideas for improvement. If so, just leave a comment at the end of this post.

The COTW nominees have been listed for the week of July 30 - August 5. Committee Members can vote until the end of Thursday. You can see the concepts by clicking the banner on the side of the page or by going to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab.

Also don't forget that the July-COTY vote continues until the end of Thursday as well. While you cast your COTW vote why not throw in your monthly vote too. And of course the Panthers vote goes until Sunday.

Committee Members, that's a lot to vote on so here are your colour coded bars;
July-COTY vote (ends Thursday @ 11:59pm EST)
COTW July 30-Aug 5 vote (ends Thursday @ 11:59pm EST)
FLA Comp Top 5 vote (ends Sunday @ 11:59pm EST)

Manchester Central Little Green concepts (by Brady)
Despite the school having a terribly long name, the concepts are decent. For a team with GREEN in their name, it's good to see that it's the only colour used. 7/10

Los Angeles Kings concept (by Stephen T.)
The idea is good, for promotional merch. I think the lines should at least be doubled in thickness as from a distance the current lines would not be able to be seen. 6/10

Tampa Bay Lightning concept (by Felix T.)
It looks like Felix's concepts are headed in a good direction. This makes sense as a jersey, but I think it could go a long way to have matching hem stripes. The logo also looks way too big. There are two un-coloured pixels at the tip of the collar, which is a very common execution error. You can see what I am talking about on the TUTORIALS link at the side of the page. 5/10

Tampa Bay Lightning concept (by Tristan)
I very much like the colour choices here! I don't think the wordmark is great as a shoulder patch though. The jersey seems uninspired. It looks like available panels have just been simply filled with the paint bucket tool. We could really use some stripes here. 5/10

Syracuse Crunch concept (by Tyler G.)
This is a very nice Crunch concept. I like the silver stripe flanked by two white stripes. I also like how it's used on the arms, hem, pants, and socks. Glaring execution error would have to be the shoulder patch on the back view which needs to be turned 180 degrees to be proper. 7/10

Peoria Rivermen concept (by NB14)
I think if the blue shades switched places this jersey would pop a bit more. I would also like to see the thickness of the hem stripes match those that are on the arms. The wordmark seems to be a bit small here. Those are all simple changes which could really help this concept. 6/10

Colorado Rockies concepts (by J3)
I'm not much for vertical piping, so #3 and #4 are my favs. Also, I don't think the ROCKIES wordmark was needed in the frankensteined logo. The font choice for the numbers is great, as are the colours, and the state C shoulder patch. 8/10

Oakland Seals concepts (by Kyle C.)
These are straight forward and very nicely executed. They actually helped Kyle get out of the first round of the HJC Open. I think the white jersey looks a lot better than the green one does though. 8/10

Anaheim Ducks concepts (by Brandon C.)
I really, really like the jerseys and colours. Near perfect for the Ducks. The one thing though is the yellow/gold that is used on the logos. Keep it on the logos, I don't think that thin line of it needs to be on the jerseys. That would be better served as white or grey. 8/10

Nashua North Titans concepts (by Brady)
For my two cents, any high school team that is named the Titans, should just go with a big athletic style T as their logo. It's cool if this team wanted to throw NASHUA above the T on a road sweater, but a big T says it all when you are the Titans. Nice jerseys and colours. I really like the cuffs on the white sweater. 7/10

Nascar concept (by Caz) *Description on concept. 7/10

Jokerit SM-Liiga concept (by Sam N.)
I really like what Sam has done with the yokes and the thin stripes. It would be cool to see the other stripes on the jersey match the thickness of those on the shoulders. Same pattern, different thickness. Everything else looks really nice and the execution is stellar as well. 8/10

Sorry I wasn't able to send in my entry for the competition. I had it all done and ready to go and then my computer crashed and I lost it, and unfortunately I didn't save it. Good luck to everyone in the voting!

I'm digging the Seals jerseys. They could be good alternatives for RBC hockey with that color scheme.

I'll give J3 a COTW nom. Just get rid of the word mark and those are pretty great.

Holy ****! I went to Central. Never expected to see a concept online. Nice job! We usually copied Dartmouth (the Big Green) and they had this style of jersey at some point too.

Sam for COTW! Perfect for Jokerit, but it would look better (like all jerseys) without ads.
