TODAY'S CONCEPTS

Rutgers NCAA concept (by Steven W.)

Like: This is a solid simple look, great for a college team. I like how the Nike logo, and that awesome Big 10 logo look on the front, not crowded or out of place at all.

Dislike: The main crest is a tad big, also, for college teams i honestly prefer a wordmark or big letter.

Suggestion: Try it with the R on the front, and the knight on the shoulders.

Rating: 7/10

Tennessee Titans concept (by Brian B.)

Likes: the striping patter works well for the Titans. I also kind of like that the logo os completely centred, not just the circle bit centred, it makes it a bit different.

Dislike: the space created by the completely centred logo. If there were other things going on, it might not be such a big deal... but as is it seems empty.

Suggestion: as much as I like the logo treatment, for this concept it might be better to centre the circle part of the logo... it could fix the empty space problem.

Rating: 7/10

Vancouver Canucks concept (by Stephen T.)

Likes: Honestly, not a whole lot. The V stripes on the bottom set of pants would be nice if they didn't cut off. As a Canucks fan, it warms my heart when someone takes a shot at the infamous flying Vs.

Dislikes: These colours are off, and that is the worst of it. The red is too brown... These are a hard jerseys to get right, and these unfortunately are not an improvement on the original flying Vs.

Suggestions: Use lighter (yellow, or white) numbers/letters on the red jersey. fix the colours... make the red lighter.

Rating: 5/10

CHL inter-league classic concept (by Jay V.)

Likes: Being a Vancouver Boy, that millionaires logo is the way to my heart. Good job making the Giants look millionaires and giants at the same time. Also, solid work making Sherbrooke look like they have been around for decades, rather than months... classic look. Also, love the vintage WHL logo.

Dislikes: Not much... sock stripes are a bit high. Not crazy about how the arm stripes and cuffs interact on the Phoenix jersey.

Suggestions: lower the sock stripes. swap the light blue and dark blue sleeve and hem stripes, so it goes dark blue, light blue, dark blue on the arms, rather than light, dark, dark... maybe mirror the arms on the hem adding a blue area at the bottom of the hem, same as there is on the cuffs.

Rating: 8/10.

Buffalo Sabres concept (by Scott D.)

Likes: All of these jerseys are solid. Love the logo treatment on the home and away, and the striping on the alternate. This would be a great set for buffalo

Dislikes: Not much. These are solid. Unfortunately for Scott, a similar concept from the Amazing Justin C. has come in today... I guess I really dislike having that stuck in my mind when writing this review.

Suggestions: Email Justin and coordinate your concepts? :) Also, I think a lace-up collar would look good on the alternate.

Rating: 8/10.

Michigan NCAA concept (by Alan H.)

Likes: love the shoulder yokes. Also, the simplicity of the special event uni is AWESOME.

Dislikes. The sock stripes.

Suggestions: Make the sock stripes match the arm stripes rather than the shoulder yokes. I think that would make the uniform as a whole look more cohesive.

Rating: 8/10

Buffalo Sabres concept (by Justin C.)

Likes: The logo... The team is called the Sabres, not the Buffalos (and if we want to get technical, that is a bison anyway...), so it makes sense to emphasize the swords. Also I LOVE when logos are place on the sleeve stripes like that. that always looks classy.

Dislikes: nothing really.

Suggestions: When placing logos on the sleeves, be aware of the bend of the arm. Think about if that logo will work there when the arm bends. Sometimes I like to move the stripes (with the logo on them) up the arm slightly, and place the numbers on the shoulders.

Rating: 9/10.

Oshawa Generals concept (by Ryan (HJC))

Likes: It is always a treat to get a concept from Ryan. There always well thought, clean, and professional. This one is no different. I like the nod to the senators, and the barber pole stripes (both are noticeable, but not overdone)

Dislikes: Honestly not much... this is nitpicking: I feel like the shoulder patch is more cohesive with the rest of the sweater than the main logo... probably because the main logo is only red and white, whereas every thing else is red, white, and blue.

Suggestion: maybe try to work a bit of blue into the main crest. make the stripe where "Generals" sits blue and the "Generals" lettering white to make this a bit more cohesive.

Rating: 9/10

Have a great weekend everyone!
