Thursday: Making Progress

Hello everybody, hope you've had a great Thursday so far. In NHL news, as we should all know by now, the Phoenix Coyotes are changing their name to the Arizona Coyotes. I like the change, could we see possible uniform/logo/color changes within the next few years? I think they are obviously going to have to change their PHX shoulder patch, maybe just replace it with ARZ? Anyway, meetings have been going on the past few days, all we can do is keep crossing our fingers for a deal.

Dallas Stars concept (By: Jets96)

Here is a unique Stars concept here from Jets96 (who has 3 concepts here today). I like the overall design. The only thing I don't like is the front logo, don't bring back the mooterus, please. Other then that this is a great design and something the Stars should consider while they are looking at a uniform change within the next few years. Great execution other then the pixelation around the front logo on the white jersey. 7.5/10

Carolina Hurricanes concept (By: Andrew G.)

Here is a much more simple, continuous set for the 'Canes. I love all these looks here, one of the best Canes concepts I've seen. The hurricane-flag pattern looks great as it is now all over the uniform instead of just on the hem look it currently is. There is nothing I don't like here. Execution is great too. 9/10

St. Louis Blues concept (By: Stephen T.)

Here is a unique Blues concept from Stephen, featuring RED? Yes, featuring red. Not that much of it but still enough to be noticable. I was never a fan of the old Blues uniforms with red, since the team is called the BLUES. I know it means Blues like music, but still. There is some execution errors here. The Reebok logo on the back should be the word "Reebok" and should be a darker color to be visible. Also the numbers and name need to be bigger and centered. I also recommend some type of ID on your concepts. This has some potential with some fixes. 5/10

Colorado Avalanche concept (By: Jets96)

Here is Jets96's second concept out of three today. I LOVE this one. A great, simple, classic design for the Avs. There is a few things I would change though. One, I would make the redish color the primary color on the road jersey, instead of blue. Two, I would make the socks like this -- [Home = All red socks with one thin white stripe in the middle and blue under it] [Road = All white socks with one thin red stripe in the middle and blue under it]. Other then that I LOVE these. 8.5/10

Lindenhills Pershing concept (By: Bren Rosy)

Here is a concept from Bren's team. I'm not totally sure what this team is or any information about it. I like the jersey design. There is a lot of execution errors here though. One, I recommend saving with a different filetype because this looks really blurry. Two, this needs TV numbers. This could be fixed and look a lot better with some fixes. Check out the "PAINT.net TUTORIAL" page at the top for some help if you need it. 4/10

Anaheim Ducks concept (By: Jordan R.)

Here are some Oregon Anaheim Ducks concepts from Jordan. I don't think we've ever seen anything quite like these. To be honest, I'm a huge fan of Oregon's football jerseys and I think these would be great for their hockey team (yes, they do have one). Although, these are for the ANAHEIM Ducks. I'm not sure about this move, but I like it. Also, great creativity by using the player models and using REAL Ducks players faces there. Very nice touch. I like the uniforms, but not the idea of these being for the Anaheim Ducks. 7/10

Columbus Blue Jackets concept (By: Jets96)

Here is Jets96's third and final concept for today. I really like these, obviously based off of their current alternate uniforms. I like the stars on the yokes and the striping is really cool and simple. I also like the vintage white to true white switch. I have no complaints here. Great execution and great job today Jets. 9/10 and a COTW nom from me
