Wednesday: 12/12/12

Today is the 12th day of the 12th month of 2012.  Crazy isn't it?  I tried to have this posted at 12:12pm, but I didn't have it finished yet.

Christmas concept (by Bren R.)
Good:  I love the Christmas spirit of these concepts.  The names on the back of the concepts are very clever, although I don't know how Rudolph would hold a hockey stick.
Bad:  I hat to say it, but I'm going to be a bit of a scrooge critiquing these concepts.  The jerseys look like the fill-tool was used, instead of actually having stripes.  There name and numbers on the red jersey would be almost impossible to read, and the only TV numbers are on the front view of that jersey.  Also the shoulder logos only appear on the front view of the jerseys.  I'd recommend taking a look at these helpful tutorial's Ryan made.  5/10

Calgary Flames (by Andrew G.)
Good:  I'm not the biggest fan of the Calgary's jersey template, but this jersey would definitely fit in with their home and road.  I like black jerseys for the flames, the red and yellow seem to stand out better.  The horse head is a much better shoulder logo than their current flags.
Bad:  I'd recommend yellow numbers for better readability.  Also, execution wise, the shoulder logos, should be split exactly in half.  7/10

Los Angeles Clippers (by Mike S.)
Good:  The fact that the arm-stripes are inspired by the basketball team's jerseys is something I like.
Bad:  Even though I like the idea of the arm-stripes, I have no clue if they would look good on the ice.  I think parts of that striping could be too thin.  The hem-stripes are a bit too high up.  6/10

Sarnia Sting (by WinnipegJets96)
Good:  Yellow seems to be more popular recently, and I think it looks great here as the main colour.
Bad:  The striping seems very boring and un-inspired.  To me it looks like a recolour of Jets96's Niagara Ice Dogs concept that was posted yesterday.  I'd also like to see TV numbers.  6/10

Quebec Voyageurs (by CaliSel78)
Good:  The striping patterns on all the jerseys are quite modern and unique.  Especially the "fleur de lis" third, which actually took me quite a while to figure out what it was.
Bad:  The colour hierarchy doesn't seem to match between the home and road.  The road jersey has lots of pale blue, while the home jersey is mostly medium and navy blue.  8/10

Windsor Spitfires (by WinnipegJets96)
Good:  These jerseys would give the spitfires a look of their own, instead of copying the Washington Capital's look.
Bad:  Besides no TV numbers, and a few other execution errors mentioned by Dylan yesterday, I have no complaints.  8/10

Atlant Moscow (by E.Awad)
Good:  That wordmark logo really catches my eye, in a good way.  It's shiny!!!  The striping looks nice on all three jerseys.
Bad:  Not much too dislike.  I don't really understand why there are two colour schemes, but maybe that's just because I know nothing about the KHL.  Also the socks are huge compared to the rest of the equipment, and the sock stripes are too high up.  Still a COTW nomination from me!!!  8/10
