Weekend Update (April 7)

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Hey guys. Ryan here with the usual Sunday "Weekend Update" post. I thought everyone did a really nice job tightening up their COTW standards. However, if you feel like you don't want to tighten your standards then by all means please continue as you were.

In case you missed it last week I suggested that people were confusing concepts that they liked with exceptional concepts that deserved a COTW nomination. I thought it was resulting in last week's scenario where there were 8 concepts nominated to the COTW. When there are that many it increases the likelihood of a tie.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The winner of the COTW for March 25-31 is Dylan A!
Full Results
Dylan A. - 4
Jordan - 3
Adam H. - 1
Brandon C. - 1
Stephane - 1
Steven G. - 1
Andrew - 0
J3 - 0

-----------------------------------------------------------------

The entries are now in for the "Untouchables" Chicago Blackhawks competition. Click the banner at the top of the page or go to the UNTOUCHABLES tab to see the entries. You can also read all of the voting rules there too! Voting, as always, ends on Friday.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

If you haven't noticed yet, the date of Live Chat III has been changed. It will now take place on Friday, April 12 @ 10pm Eastern time. If we go long enough I should be able to reveal the COTW and COTY-March results to you. Not the Chicago results though as that takes a bit of time to count.
Once again we will be doing Head2Head concept votes. That's where we take one concept and place it against another single concept for a quick vote. The winner gets some bragging rights for the rest of the Live Chat. This time around I've chosen a team for these concepts...

Send in a San Jose Sharks concept for the Head2Head votes. Be sure to clearly indicate that your concept is for the Live Chat. Also, only include ONE jersey in your concept and only one concept per person. I'd also suggest placing your name or ID on it. There is a possibility that not every concept that is sent in will be used. Lets have all of those concepts in by the end of Thursday.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

Here is the HJC Concept Artist profile card I talked about in the Podcast. Fill it out if you like and email it back in. I'll place them in amongst the concepts and they will be posted as such. Look for profile cards beginning Monday, April 15!

-----------------------------------------------------------------

With March 2013 now in the history books, we can begin the COTY-March vote. The 1st Quarter vote will then follow that! The new COTW vote is also on now for the concepts posted the week of April 1-7. Both of these votes will end on Friday. In case you didn't read all of that, here come your coloured bars!

COTY-March vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm EST)
Untouchables-CHI Top 5 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm EST)
COTW Apr 1-7 vote (ends Friday @ 11:59pm EST)

Yes it's true Ryan I haven't won a COTW, but however I did win the "Montreal Maroons DHL contest" back in 2011 and that was it. Unless if I count winning the first round of the HJC Open also in 2011, kinda wired that I remember those two from almost 2 years ago LOL.

Here's a Question for your Next Podcast.
Beside the Leafs, witch Team that you think should play Detroit at the Winter Classic?

Like Alan or Ted, I haven't won a cotw yet, but that'll come with time. My question for next podcast, what would you consider to be the best hockey video game ever, me personally, NHL 2004.
