Christian's concept joins the other concepts that won their Quarterly Votes, and now we have our four semi finalists. You can see the match-ups by clicking the silver banner on the side of the page. Or you can go to the COTY 2014 tab. Or I could show you the match-ups now.

The 1st Quarter Winner, Dylan A. goes up against the 3rd Quarter Winner Jake88 (Washington)

The other Semi-Final has 2nd Quarter Winner, Jake88 (Charlotte), going up against 4th Quarter Winner, Christian L.

When you vote for the COTY Semi-Finals, you should be placing TWO votes. One for the winner of the 1st QTR vs 3rd QTR match-up. Then you also pick the winner of the 2nd QTR vs 4th QTR match-up. This will lead us to the COTY Final Vote next week.

The new COTW nominees for the week of January 18-24 have been listed on the side of the page in the black banner. Click on that banner to see the nominated concepts, or go to the CONCEPT OF THE WEEK tab. Get your votes in by Friday @ 11:59pm Eastern.

I've extended the deadline for jersey entries into the World Cup Competition. Now everyone has plenty of time to get an entry in for all of the teams (if they choose to). The main reason for the deadline extension is because I don't want any other votes going on next week while the Concept of the Year vote is happening. Even the regular COTW vote will be delayed a week.

The Grand Rapids Griffins will be wearing the first jersey, from the fan designed jersey competition they held through HJC this summer, tonight against the Iowa Wild.
Regardless of what you think about the jersey, I believe it's always fun to see the initial concept and the final product. Congrats again to Mark.

I supposed if the Griffins are playing the Iowa Wild they wouldn't want to use the other winner of the jersey design competition. That would be awkward!

Yesterday I got a great promotion at work! It was a huge life changing event. Pension, benefits, great salary. I owe it all to the Concept of the Week voting. That's right! I bet you didn't know that voting for COTW and COTY spreads good luck and fortune. Don't believe me? Give it a try and cast your vote this week! Feelin' really lucky? Join the COTW Mailing List to having voting reminders emailed to you!

This might sound stupid for the the site's exposure, but I feel like if we want the the best design chosen than the competition should only be open to the site and/or the winning design is chosen by votes. Just my opinion.

@Taylor...isn't that how everything is chosen? By us voting.

I think what Taylor is talking about is very similar to the Voting Committee system that we used years ago. That was done away with to promote greater participation. The problem with the Voting Committee was that people just weren't responsible enough to send in their votes every week, which lead to small voting numbers.

You got it Caz, but I feel like now if a voting commitee was put into place of like what...10 people they votes would come on time. I feel like there's a lot more people dedicated to this site now.
