And now how about your regular daily concepts!?

Portland Winterhawks Alternate Jersey Concept - Glen W.
Very out of left field design here for the Winterhawks. It's not the first time the tea would use feathers on a jersey, but the light blue is seemingly out of nowhere... is the blue supposed to come from the "winter"? The feathers could work, but they'd have to be executed better. The same cannot be said for the "WINTER - HAWKS" going down the sleeves. Best bet would be to flip them so the top of the letters were pointed towards the collar of the jersey, like the Thrashers used to do. It might be better to have "WINTERHAWKS" on just one sleeve or even both sleeves as opposed to the word split between both sleeves. Something needs to be done with the back of the sleeves too. It just looks odd. The font for the name and number don't work well, and could use a black outline.

Rating: 4/10 - With some work this could be a damn fine alternate jersey.

Mighty Ducks of Anaheim Concept - Jake C.
Jake uses the old NHL practice jersey template and puts the old D-5 logo on the front with an old Mighty Ducks roundel on the shoulders. The color schemes for the old Mighty Ducks D-5 logo and jerseys are completely different than the actual jerseys they ended up using later on in the movies, as well as the real life Ducks. The D-5 logo looks out of place, and is way too big. The numbers on the back are spaced out a little weird, and I'd go for a better overall jersey template. The shoulder logos are huuuuge and there's no ID on the image. It'd be nice to see more equipment, but more importantly, if you're only going to show off a jersey then center the jersey on the image, instead of just lapping it in the corner.

Rating: 4/10

Los Angeles Clippers NBA Hockey Concept - Jay S.
Over the offseason the Clippers unveiled one of the worst professional rebrands I've ever seen. The jerseys aren't much better. Jay tries as best he can with the unfortunate set of logos he has to work with. If you wanted to stick with their branding, the jerseys should be a bit more modern, the classic look just doesn't really work with their swoopy modern logos. The jerseys look fine on their own though. I think the wordmark should be what they acutally wear on their jerseys, and the shoulder logo should be just the LAC without the ball around it. Small changes that would slightly improve the look of the jersey. I think red pants should be used as well as they seem to focus more on red and white than the blue.

Rating: 6/10

Los Angeles Lakers NBA Hockey Concept - Jay S.
Ah, we get both LA based NBA teams today. The purple jersey seems like it would be perfect for the hockey Lakers, a yellow jersey would be neat. The yellow jersey here is way too out there for me and has a lot of basketball imagery for a supposed hockey jersey. I'm sure as fan gear, it would be neat but I don't know what the purpose of the concept is. Personally, I'd rather see a yellow version of the dark jersey, or something similar to it.

Rating: 6.5/10

Florida Panthers Concept - Ryan C.
News has broke of the Panthers executing a full rebrand for next season. Ryan suggests just a new set of jerseys. The swoops on the shoulders could be neat. I don't feel that they pair well with a classic arm stripe pattern. They would have to be paired with something more modern and Buffasluggy which could prove to be very difficult to pull off. Not a fan of the blank hems either.

Rating: 7/10

Lada Togliatti Concept (KHL) - Artem S.
First thing I thought of when I saw these jerseys was CKA (or SKA), another team from the KHL. A lot of that has to do with the yoke designs. Probably not good for a team when you see their jerseys and immediately think of a rival team. The jerseys are pretty straightforward. The striping inconsistency between the pants and the rest of the jersey irk me a little bit.

Don't forget to put your ID on the image!

Rating: 7/10

Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg Concept (KHL) - Artem S.
I'm a fan of the team's logo, and the B-Sens jerseys fit well with the little chevron/laurel/wing things fit well. I'm hoping the shapes on the sleeves and hem are actually the wings from the logo. Other than that one unique feature there's not much else going on. It's a solid looking set for this team, and one of the only times this particular jersey template has worked.

Again, don't forget your ID.

Rating: 7.5/10

Team Finland Concept - Josiah B.

Josiah used to contact me through Instagram for some design advice and it's nice to see how far he's come since the first time he sent me a message. The color balance is pretty good, I think the only tweak would need to be in the logo coloring on the white jersey. The SUOMI is a tad hard to read. Everything else is pretty good. I wouldn't mind seeing the Fins wear something like this.

Rating: 7.5/10

Team Sweden Concept - Josiah B.
Another good looking set from Josiah. The only thing both this, and the Finland concept could use is the rest of the equipment. I like the yoke designs overall, but I think the stripes need to be adjusted, or the Nike logo on the back needs to move. Also, on the blue jersey maybe get rid of the large yellow part in the yoke and keep the smaller yellow sections. Just a thought.

Rating: 8/10

And there it is! Another great Wednesday! Get those Cougars entries in!

I love Ryan C's Panthers Concept, COTW Nom. It's minor and it's not what I'd want from their redesign but 3 years ago this would have been much welcomed

Ill second Ryan for COTW.
