Tuesday: Won't You Be My Neighbor?

Hi everybody. Hope you guys are having a good week. I hope you got that reference otherwise I sound like a creeper (and not those pain in the butt monsters from Minecraft.)

As Jets was talking about yesterday, the WCH jerseys are a pretty penny just for a blank replica. While I think that it would be nice to have one and that the designs are pretty unique, I'm pretty disappointed that they decided to charge that much, but again, it doesn't surprise me. I will say that I think Adidas did a better job of representing countries than what Nike has done the past few years.

My days as the Tuesday writer are slim now and I'm pretty sure you guys know who's leaving (hint: it's not me) so if you want to write for HJC then send in a mock post.

Another thing, I am planning on doing a crossover of the NLL box lacrosse teams having jerseys that look similar to their NHL counterparts and I'd like to know if I have any mistakes on the template I made.

We have the International Outdoor competition going on so don't forget to get your designs in and also don't forget about the COTW voting.

COTW Aug 5-11 vote (ends Friday @ noon Eastern)
International Outdoor Competition (ends Friday @ noon Eastern)
HJC Writer applications (due Friday @ noon Eastern)

Onto the Concepts

Avi Stein- Team Russia (WCH)

Positives: Adding the gold in as a complimentary striping color was a really good choice. The different color hem at the bottom is also a nice touch, as it doesn't give the Adidas stripes that awkward placement look. The "adidas" wordmark is also a nice touch on the back of the jersey.
Negatives: The three stripes on the collar aren't necessary.
Overall: 9/10 COTW NOMINEE (noise maker going off in background)

Lucas Daitchman- Detroit Red Wings
Positives: The logo is really interesting and design overall actually isn't that bad as a two color design.
Negatives:  I really don't like the Flyers template and trying to combine a classic team with an expansion team is just wrong on so many levels.
Overall: 7/10

Roman Sasin- Colorado Avalanche
Positives: I'm really digging the modern design that you took from the alternate and made to the primary. The yoke looks fantastic and is, in a way, reminiscent of the original angled striping design. The sleeve striping on the primary is also pleasing to the eye and only slightly modifying the alternate was a good idea as well.
Negatives: My negative is the template actually. while it's cool to see a rendering of a player wearing it, I'd like to see a back of the jersey as well and maybe make the pictures a little bigger.
Overall: 8.5/10

Ryan Haslett- Team Canada
Positives: I really like the throwback style on this adidas template. The three maple leaves going across the chest in the diamonds is really different and the plain white collar really brings this together. Also, I like the old style numbers on the back.
Negatives: The maple leave looks a little to modern to fit the style of the jersey and I really wish there was a back to this.
Overall: 8.5/10

Well that's all I have today guys. I hope you guys have a good rest of the week and I'll see you next tuesday (Maybe) or my new day. I'm not sure yet.

Roman S. for COTW. The jerseys are great and the fact that you made it using the NHL 17 uniform creator makes it better. That thing took quite a bit of time for me to figure out how to use haha

I'll 2nd Avi s. The white jersey would look better if the yoke/hem were red but as is it's still good

I'm excited to see your NLL crossovers! Is there a team you follow or a team whose branding and look that fancies you?

Is NHL 17's team creator stuff significantly better than 15's? Is so, I might get it, but I'm perfectly fine with waiting for 18/Vegas to come out.
