Monday: Double Pens Blues

Welcome to the Monday post!

There won't be a minor league round up as there wasn't that much interesting unveiled this week, but it'll mean much a longer one next week.

The Pairs Competition is space trucking along, and with just over a week until the deadline, hopefully  you have emailed Ryan your team and the division you want. If you don't mention it until the deadline please be sure to mention the division you want to be in. If you don't do so, Ryan will do so for you. Also remember that Ryan holds discretion which division you are put in. You can be moved up to Advanced divisions but not down to Standard.

Vancouver Canucks Concepts (By: Zack H.)

+ Love the look of the updated stick in rink logo and a mostly green jersey together at last

+ Great striping pattern on both jerseys

+ Good colour balancing across the board 

+ Good secondary logo choice

+ Good execution 

- The numbers are too thin and the NOB is much too hard to read

-  Captain's A is too large 

- The shoulder arch is too small and the tv numbers are too crammed with them

Rating: 7.75/10

Colorado Avalanche Concept (By: Taylor R.)

+ A good mix of classic striping and the good parts of the current alternate (the yoke comes to mind)

+ Numbers look gorgeous in blue 

+ Taylor's execution is great as always

+ Surprised that the C logo works as a shoulder patch 

+ Why hasn't this been adopted yet?! 

- Maybe adding a little blue to the cuffs would give them some colour that maybe would look better

Team Slovenia Concepts (By: Mike F.)

+ Loving the lack of neon green, while it helps to keep them from blending in with Slovakia or France, they don't need it on this set

+ The hem striping from the national crest looks excellent 

+ Alternate has a really nice 90s vibe to it that would still work today

+ The vintage jersey also looks good, and fits the period

- Flag patches aren't necessary on the alternate

- Arms stripes on the home and road don't work with the curved stripes

Pittsburgh Penguins Concepts (By: Ryan C.)

+ This jersey would be like if Pittsburgh shrunk the yellow upper arms and put in a matching hem stripe, and you know what, I really like this

+ Freeing the Penguin from his triangle prison looks good with as much yellow there is across the jersey 

+ Black yoke gives it a good colour balance

+ Solid execution

- The numbers should stay the same as they are now

- Shoulder patches?!

Pittsburgh Penguins Concepts (By: Lucas D.)

+ Love the Jagr era striping on the hems with the Lemieux era arm stripe, looks pretty solid together 

+ Rest of the jersey holds up well, especially since it is both new and exactly what they have now

+ Solid execution across the board

- Colour balancing is off, the white jersey should have the yellow and black swapped

- Jerseys also need a shoulder patch of some sort

- NHL 100 logo looks better above the numbers imho
